This is real patient skin. Not a stock photo. Not a filter. Real results. 🀍

I'm showing you this because I think it matters. I would never recommend a treatment I don't fully believe in, and this combination is genuinely one of the best I offer.

Where she started dull, and a little dry skin.

Where she is now better texture, more even tone, and a glow that comes from healthy skin rather than anything she's put on top of it.

And here's the honest part. She didn't get there in one session. She committed to three courses of microneedling and three courses of polynucleotides.

She trusted the process. She gave her skin the time it actually needed.

Because good skin, like anything worth having, takes consistency.

Things I wish someone had warned me about before polynucleotides. 🀍

I do these treatments. I genuinely believe in them. And that is exactly why I want to be honest with you about the things that do not always make it into the consultation.

1. The little bumps
Immediately after, you can get small raised areas where the product has been placed. They can look a bit alarming but they settle, usually within a day or two. Nobody showed me a picture of that before I had it done, and I really would have found it helpful.

2. You won't see dramatic results from one session
Polynucleotides work by stimulating your own skin's biology your collagen, your hydration, your tissue repair. That takes time, which is why it takes a course of treatments. This is a slow, beautiful build. Not an overnight fix.

3. You might bruise
I know that sounds obvious, but some people expect aesthetic treatments to be completely bruise-free, and they are not always.

And here is the thing none of that puts me off. It is still one of my absolute favourite treatments. I just believe you should always go in with honest expectations.

Because that is what proper care looks like. Not selling you a fantasy telling you the truth, so you feel completely informed and looked after. 🀍

Why the consent process actually matters and what most people never think about. 🀍

Here is a scenario. Let's say you had filler three years ago, and now there is a lump in that area.

It could be a delayed onset nodule a known, treatable complication of filler. Your practitioner can dissolve it and support you through it.

But and this is the part people do not always think about it could also be something completely unrelated. That lump needs to be properly assessed, possibly by your GP, possibly with an ultrasound. A diagnosis has to come first, because assuming it is just the filler could mean missing something far more serious.

And just because you have had a cosmetic treatment, that should never automatically disqualify you from getting proper NHS support and a proper diagnosis before anyone jumps to conclusions.

This is exactly why the consent process matters so much and why I need you, as patients, to properly engage with it.

When I talk you through the risks before treatment, that is not a box-ticking exercise. It is real information about things that could genuinely happen. Nodules, lumps, delayed reactions these are known risks of many cosmetic procedures, not just filler.

If you are told these things clearly and you choose to go ahead, that is your informed decision. And if a complication happens, I will absolutely support you clinically.

But financially, if it is a known, consented-to risk, that responsibility sits with you not your practitioner.

That said if your consent process was not clear, and you were not fully informed, that is on your practitioner. And that is a completely different conversation.

So my message is simple. Engage with the consent process. Ask questions. Understand the risks. Because informed decisions come with informed responsibility and that protects both you and your practitioner. 🀍

This is the standard of care you should expect from anyone you trust with your skin.

Three skincare myths I hear every single week and they are quietly costing people their skin health and their money. πŸ‘€

As a nurse, these are the ones that genuinely get my goat. So let's clear them up.

Myth 1
"I only use natural products."

Products claiming to be natural will almost always still contain synthetic ingredients and preservatives and preservatives are essential to stop bacterial growth.
Meanwhile some of the most skin-transforming ingredients we have are synthetic hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, retinol.

And natural does not automatically mean safe. Poison ivy is natural. Lavender can be very irritating for sensitive skin. So natural versus synthetic was never the right question. What matters is whether the ingredient is right for your skin.

Myth 2
"I don't need SPF because I'm not in direct sunlight."

UVA radiation the rays primarily responsible for ageing and pigmentation goes straight through glass. It is present on cloudy days. And it does not care that you are sitting at your desk. If you want to slow the signs of ageing and prevent pigmentation, wear the sunscreen. Every day. 🀍

Myth 3
"My skin is oily, so I need to dry it out."

One of the reasons your skin overproduces oil is actually as a protective response. So if you strip it and dry it out, it can produce even more. You do not need to dry oily skin out you need to find the right hydration and moisture for it.

These myths are everywhere. And they cost people money and skin health every single day.

Confused about what is actually true for your skin?

That is exactly what a consultation is for honest, evidence-based advice with no nonsense. DM me the word SKIN or book via the link in bio. πŸ’›

Save this if you have got microneedling booked or you are thinking about it. πŸ“Œ

One of the biggest reasons women feel anxious after a treatment is simply not knowing what is normal. So let me take that worry away completely. 🀍

In the first 24 to 48 hours, some warmth, redness, tightness and mild sensitivity are all completely expected. Think of it like a light sunburn. Your skin may also feel rough, tight or slightly flaky over the following days as it renews itself.

All of this is normal it is your skin doing exactly what it should.

What you should NOT see is intense spreading redness, blistering, broken skin, yellow crusting or weeping, or pain that gets worse instead of better. If any of that happens, contact your practitioner straight away.

Everyone's skin responds a little differently, and that is okay. The important thing is knowing the difference between a normal healing response and a sign that something is not right.

And here is my promise to you when you have a treatment with me, you are never left to figure it out alone. I talk you through your aftercare properly, and my door is always open if you are unsure about anything. A good practitioner will never make you feel silly for checking. 🀍

My 5 point attack against ageing. 🀍

Here is the honest truth regardless of how hard we try, we cannot halt the ageing process. But we can absolutely slow the signs of it. And after years as a nurse, this is exactly how I approach it.

1. Protection
SPF and vitamin C every single morning. No exceptions. This is your daily armour against UV damage, free radicals and pigmentation. The single most important thing you can do for your skin, full stop.

2. Renewal
Retinol and peptides. Retinol resurfaces and rebuilds, while peptides signal your skin to produce more collagen. Together they keep your skin actively renewing.

3. Resurfacing
Microneedling. Controlled, intentional damage that triggers new collagen for better texture and tighter skin. This is where real change happens.

4. Restoration
Polynucleotides, skin boosters, biostimulators and dermal filler. These restore volume and quality from within, working deeper than any product can reach.

5. The Foundation
Sleep. Nutrition. Hydration. Movement. Because no serum can outrun a depleted body. True skin health always starts from the inside out. 🀍

This is the full picture. Not one product. Not one treatment. A complete, considered approach which is exactly how I work with every patient at Opalesce.

Nervous about RF microneedling? Let me take the mystery out of it completely. 🀍

The fear of the unknown is the number one thing that holds women back from a treatment that could genuinely change how they feel about their skin.

So here is exactly what happens, start to finish.

It begins with a proper consultation never a hard sell, just an honest conversation about whether this is right for you.

On the day, I numb the skin and take my time to keep you comfortable. The treatment combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to tighten and firm from within.

Afterwards your skin feels warm and looks slightly flushed settling within a day or two. And then your skin gets to work, remodelling and tightening over the following weeks.

The best part? You are never on your own. I guide you through every step, before and after.
