Let’s talk about nail removals…
It’s easy to think that removing every last bit of product is always best, but repeatedly soaking, filing, e-filing or peeling can cause unnecessary damage to the natural nail.
For most rebalances, I prefer to debulk around 90%, removing what needs to go while keeping a safe foundation where appropriate.
A full removal is still necessary when you’ve gone over your rebalance appointment, there’s lifting or damage, or you’re changing product or brand.
It’s not about doing less — it’s about doing what’s best for your natural nails.
Healthy nails, beautiful sets and long-term care will always be my priority.
One thing you never have to do with me is apologise about your nails if you miss an appointment.
My client was 3 weeks over recommended maitenance and removed the existing product themselves, causing some damage to the natural sidewalls and lower parallels.
Due on holiday next week she told me to work with nails she had. If you know me I am a perfectionist and said I could do one better.
Using a vitamin E- repair and protect base to give the nails all the goodness they need. I then sculpted a short extensions to reconstruct the sidewalls and apex.
