Twisted Math

Twisted Math design, build, finish as sell mathematical sculptures. The objective of these works is to create a physical form of a mathematical function. Process

A majority of of the models start as an equation, used to generate a 3d graph or surface. This is then manipulated to create a solid 3d computer model that can be printed. We have developed a process for transforming the printed model into the high quality finished product we hope you like. Current Work

At the moment the work has focused on an area of mathematics known as minimal surfaces. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimal_surface

A branch of maths which contains many beautiful shapes and curves. The models for sale at the moment are based on my favourite minimal surface, the Gyroid. http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Gyroid.html

We have donated work to local community art based projects as well as creating a display for a 'Beauty in Science' art exhibition, run in coordination with the local university.
