BIAB not lasting? Don't automatically blame the product. 👀

When you're learning, it can be really frustrating when a client comes back with lifting and you don't know why it's happened.
But instead of immediately changing your BIAB, start troubleshooting your process.
Ask yourself:

✨ Was the nail properly prepared?
✨ Was the product applied cleanly?
✨ Is the structure correct?
✨ Was the product cured according to the manufacturer's instructions?
✨ Has the client followed their aftercare?
The answer isn't always obvious — and that's exactly why understanding your technique matters.

One of the biggest things I want my students to develop is the ability to look at a problem and work out WHY it's happening, rather than simply changing products and hoping for the best.
Because that's when your confidence really starts to grow.

And if you’ve been here for a while, I thought it was time I properly reintroduced myself.
I’ve been in the nail industry for 13+ years. I qualified at Bedford College in 2013, worked in salons, from home and mobile, made plenty of mistakes, retrained, adapted and kept learning.
Because the nail industry changes constantly — and I believe you never stop learning.
But my business didn’t start in a beautiful studio.
It started with a garden chair, a small amount of stock from Amazon and a lot of determination.
I invested in myself, worked hard and within 6 months I was fully booked.
Eventually, I reached a point where I realised being fully booked didn't have to mean working myself into the ground. I was able to reduce my working days, create more balance and build a business that actually worked for me.

And now I want to give back what I wish I had when I was starting.

I had no mentor.

No one to train on.

No one to tell me what I was doing wrong.

I had to figure so much of it out myself.

That's why education has become such a huge part of what I do now.
I'm a qualified nail educator, specialising in Builder Gel, and I've taken everything I've learned over the years — the techniques, mistakes, lessons, business knowledge and real-life experience — and built it into my training.
