1 in 5 children cannot read well by the age of 11. This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is a wonderful way to keep the kids’ reading over the summer holiday.
This year the The Reading Agency have joined with Youth Sport Trust with the theme of 'Ready, Set Read' to help encourage the young people in your life to enjoy a summer of reading and activity ⛹️☀️
To take part, all you need to do is:
➡️ Sign your child up for free at your local library.
➡️ Pick up and read any six books over the summer holiday - e-books read via the Borrowbox service or online e-book service count too!
🥇 The challenge runs until Saturday 9 September and every child that reads six books gets a medal and certificate for taking part.
👩👧👦 Aimed at children aged 4-11, however younger children can join in, too, with a special mini-challenge for under 4's.

Has anyone stopped using these bags? Such a waste of plastic. I just put the items loose in the basket for the greengrocer to weigh
