Well, hello again!๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿฝ

Iโ€™ve been a little quiet on here over the last few months. Life threw a few curveballs which meant taking some unexpected time away, but behind the scenes there have been some big changes.

A new beautiful treatment space, a freshย chapterย
& some exciting plans ahead!

The setting might be new but my approach to skin remains the same; evidence based safe & effective treatments. Individualised treatment plans. No trends or quick fixes. Just a focus on healthy skin & long-term results.ย

Right then...shall we talk skin?! ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

POV: You follow the exact treatment plan your esthetician gives you, religiously commit to your home care routine, and trust the process. Look at what can be achieved!

This journey began with repairing and strengthening the skin barrier, supported by a series of deep cleansing facials, LED light therapy, and a tailored home care using medical grade products specifically targeted for the clientโ€™s skin type.

BUT this wasnโ€™t just about treating what we could see on the surface. We took a holistic approach, considering the bigger picture including hormonal influences, environmental factors, diet, lifestyle, and daily skincare practices.

Education played a huge role in these results too๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฝ

โœ”๏ธ No harsh scrubbing
โœ”๏ธ NO picking or squeezing
โœ”๏ธ Avoiding comedogenic products
โœ”๏ธ Daily sun protection
โœ”๏ธ Stress management

The result? Reduced congestion, calmer skin, improved texture, less redness, and a healthier, more resilient complexion.

Itโ€™s also important to understand that the quest for healthier skin isnโ€™t a linear process. In between appointments, sometimes things got worse before they get better and this is completely normal.

I will never claim that I can โ€˜cureโ€™ your skin issues. That simply isnโ€™t realistic, and in many cases, it isnโ€™t possible. Instead, we focus on improving skin health, educating clients, and respecting the skinโ€™s natural behaviour. Itโ€™s also not realistic to expect that youโ€™ll never experience another breakout or blemish again. The goal is healthier, stronger, more resilient skin and fewer, more manageable flare ups over time.

There are no shortcuts when it comes to skin health. Real results come from understanding the root causes, creating a personalised plan, and staying consistent.

Proof that when professional guidance, tailored treatments, and commitment come together, incredible transformations can happen๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ

Beautiful results from microneedling are my reminder of what consistency can achieve!

Sometimes I forget just how powerful microneedling really isโ€ฆ and then I see my clientsโ€™ transformations like this.

Watching improvements in skin texture, radiance, firmness and the softening of fine lines over time is exactly why I love this treatment so much. Results continue to build through increased collagen and elastin production, improving overall skin quality long after treatment.

โ–ซ๏ธ How microneedling works beneath the skin
โ–ซ๏ธ The stages of healing and collagen stimulation
โ–ซ๏ธ Important contraindications to consider before treatment
โ–ซ๏ธ Why a personalised consultation is essential

Beautiful results rarely happen from one treatment alone. Healthy skin is a journey and consistency is often where the biggest changes happen.

Microneedling is not suitable for everyone, which is why I will always recommend what is safest and most beneficial for your skin, not simply what is requested. Your skin health comes first.

Dermaplaning is a safe and effective exfoliation treatment using a sterile surgical blade to gently remove dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the skinโ€™s surface. This supports brighter, smoother skin and allows skincare products to pe*****te more effectively, whilst creating an improved canvas for makeup application.

Wear SPF 50 daily and reapply regularly.
Avoid direct sun exposure and excessive heat for 48 hours following treatment.
Avoid saunas, steam rooms and intense exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
Maintain hydration using gentle, barrier supporting skincare.
Avoid active ingredients including retinol and exfoliating acids for several days unless otherwise advised.

These measures help protect newly exfoliated skin, minimise sensitivity and support optimal treatment results.

Sensitive skin, irritation, or dryness?

Have you considered that it could be a compromised skin barrier instead?

Your skin barrier, the outermost layer of skin, acts like a protective shield. It helps lock in moisture while keeping out irritants, bacteria, pollutants, and other environmental stressors.

The skin barrier is made up of skin cells held together by lipids such as ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids, often described as the brick and mortar structure of healthy skin. These components help maintain hydration and support overall skin health.

When your skin barrier is strong, it:

โ€ข Retains moisture
โ€ข Protects against irritation and allergens
โ€ข Supports healthy, resilient skin
โ€ข Helps reduce dehydration and sensitivity

When the skin barrier becomes damaged, signs may include:

โ€ข Dryness and dehydration
โ€ข Increased sensitivity
โ€ข Irritation or redness
โ€ข Breakouts
โ€ข Conditions such as eczema or dermatitis becoming worse

Supporting your skin barrier involves:

โ€ข Using gentle cleansers
โ€ข Avoiding harsh ingredients or over exfoliation
โ€ข Moisturizing regularly
โ€ข Staying hydrated
โ€ข Protecting skin from excessive UV exposure

If this applies to you, save this post, or send it to someone who needs to hear it!

NB: One thing to know before booking advanced treatments. If your skin barrier is compromised, the priority will always be repairing and strengthening your skin first. This means we may delay stronger treatments, active ingredients until your skin is healthy enough to tolerate them safely.

Optimal results ALWAYS have to start with a healthy barrier, and barrier repair is often the first step towards achieving your long term skin goals.

A few months away from the treatment room meant it was definitely time for a full skin reset for this long term client ๐Ÿค

One of the best parts about treating clients consistently over time is truly understanding their skin. I know how his skin reacts, where congestion builds up the fastest, what his barrier can comfortably tolerate, and how to get results without overwhelming the skin.

After not seeing him for a few months, there was a noticeable buildup of congestion throughout the nose area. The pores were heavily compacted with blackheads, excess oil, sebaceous filaments, and overall texture buildup that naturally accumulates when routine treatments are paused for a while. His skin was also looking more dull and congested overall, which is extremely common and normal after going longer between appointments.

For this treatment, the goal was not to overwork the skin or do anything too aggressive. We wanted to fully reset the skin in a healthy and controlled way while protecting the integrity of his barrier.

We focused on detailed extractions to safely clear congestion and smooth the appearance of the skin without creating unnecessary irritation. The before photo shows how impacted the pores had become, and the after photo shows a much cleaner, softer, and more refined surface immediately after treatment.

Since I know his skin very well, I also incorporated a very mild superficial mask peel to gently loosen buildup, brighten the skin, soften congestion, and improve overall texture. Nothing intense, just enough exfoliation to refresh the skin and enhance the results while keeping the skin calm and balanced.

This is why customised treatments are so important. Not every congested skin type needs an aggressive approach. Sometimes the best results come from consistency, understanding the skin, and choosing treatments that work with the skin instead of against it
