Graduate Sports Therapist based in Sandbach. Sports Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Lymphatic Drainage

Currently, Sports Therapist is not a protected term in the UK. This means that there is little to help Sports Therapists who have studied at University to stand out from those that have gained qualifications from colleges and other training providers. Some Sports Therapists will refer to themselves as ‘GRADUATE Sports Therapists’ to try and distinguish themselves from others, but the generally public may not understand just what a Sports Therapists is able to compared to a Sports Massage Therapist.

Sports Therapists are trained to:
- assess injuries and musculoskeletal issues
- create rehabilitation programs
- support recovery and return to activity
- give injury prevention advice
- improve strength mobility and function.

Sports massage therapists can help with common musculoskeletal aches and pains. But, without additional training, they often aren’t able to assess injuries and underlying issues, or advice on rehabilitation exercises.

***PATIENT FEEDBACK***

More feedback from Nicola about her experience of sessions with Liam.

“Liam always takes the time to check in after each session and remembers our specific needs. He’s always happy to answer questions we have. It’s like having your own wellness advocate.”

Many people suffer from aches and pains that seem to take forever to recover. This can be due:
- to lack of clear guidance on the right next step,
- the same copy and paste plan used for all patients regardless of their specific needs
- short term solutions that don’t have a long term ideas behind them.

At LAC Therapies, we can offer you the guidance you need through rehabilitation and potentially changing of habits that led to the issue. Our hands-on-treatments are always used with conjunction with long term planning with the aim to manage and maintain your progression.

Pre-season training is a huge part of preparation for a new sports season. High intensity training sessions aim to prepare the body for the physical demands expected during the coming weeks and months.

This high intensity can mean the body suffers with aches and soreness. It’s important to recover from this as quickly as possible to minimise the chances of injury and make the most of the pre-season period.

Many finish a season carrying ni**le and injuries. For these people, pre-season is a chance to fully recover without the demands of games/ competitions.
