I am now back from the Lymphoedema Society Conference at Chester Racecourse.

What a fantastic three days of excellent presentations and scientific content.

I have, as always, come away with great ideas for helping to develop my practice in order to better serve my clients and meet their needs more effectively.

Thank you to the British Lymphology Society and Lipoedema Uk for a great program and I look forward to .

Well, here I am, at Chester Racecourse. I am parked, registered and ready for The BLS2026 Lymphoedema Conference to begin. Just on the walk from my car to the conference hall I have already bumped into several people I know 😁

For the next three days I will be attending the 2026 BLS Lymphoedema Conference at Chester Racecourse.

I am really looking forward to an exciting program of talks. Today and Tuesday will focus on Lymphoedema. On Wednesday we will be hearing talks from Lipoedema UK.

I will no doubt be posting more over the next three days. I am determined to make the photos more interesting than those taken at previous events; wish me luck!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I treat lots of ladies with lymphoedema following breast cancer treatments; mastectomies, lumpectomies, radiotherapy and lymph node dissections etc. However, I am yet to treat a male patient. This is probably because breast cancers amongst men are much rarer than women or it could because men are much less likely to seek help.

Are you a man recovering from breast cancer surgery or treatment? Do you know a man who could benefit from a consultation following breast cancer?

If you are a man who has swelling or lymphoedema following breast cancer treatment and you would like to know more about how I can help you, call 07748 292662 for a confidential chat.

If you don’t know a man who has undergone breast cancer treatment, please do share this post. You may be helping a man somewhere to seek the help he didn’t know he needed.

Thank you to Juzo for a fantastic day at the 1st London Lymphoedema Symposium on Saturday.

It was great to catch up with friends and gain some really useful new insights into the field of lymphoedema. It has certainly helped me to rationalise some of the things I am already doing as well as enabling me to better structure some of my plans for future services.

My autumn of education continues next week with the British Lymphology Society annual conference in Chester.

I think I’m going to need a bigger notebook 🦈

Having a great day at the 1st London Lymphoedema Symposium in Tower Hill.

Fascinating presentations focusing mainly on primary lymphoedema but with some references to secondary lymphoedema’s. Although I have much to learn (each new piece of the jigsaw gives rise to 1000 more questions) I feel that limiting my primary lymphoedema patients to those who are already on the lymphoedema service books is a very sensible approach.

I have also had some very helpful conversations with friends and colleagues, especially pertinent to a couple of clients who I am currently working with.

As promised yesterday, a very unimaginative photo is attached to this post. I will try to do better next time.

Today I am heading south ready for the 1st London Lymphoedema Symposium which is taking place tomorrow near Tower Bridge. On this occasion I am going with Mrs. P who will be spending the day with an old friend whilst I am indulging my nerdy side in all things ‘lymphatic’.

I always do my best to take a photo or two at these events but I usually end up either forgetting or taking something last minute. So watch this space tomorrow for what will probably end up being an incredibly dull picture 😁

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning everyone. Today is the Autumn Equinox which means that it is the first day of autumn.

Autumn has always been my favourite season. Partly because of the beautiful colours, partly because of the cooler temperatures (I’m not a massive fan of hot weather) and partly because it leads us beautifully towards Christmas, of which I am a massive fan.

Autumn for me is set to be very busy with lots of exciting developments, interesting educational events and of course, lovely new clients to help.

I know that not everyone is particularly happy about the darker nights and colder temperatures but whatever your standpoint is, I hope that the final months of 2026 bring you everything you want, need and desire.

Happy Autumn!

As September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, I just wanted to write a quick post about the value of Manual Lymphatic Drainage following gynaecological surgery.

In many cases, the completion of treatment for ovarian cancer doesn’t mean an end to physical changes. Surgery, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and altered mobility can all have a negative impact on lymphatic function.

Leg swelling is one recognised side effect of gynaecological cancer therapies and understanding the underlying causes of this dysfunction is essential for successful treatment to address the swelling.

If you have experienced leg swelling, a feeling of heaviness, tightness around the hips or thighs or skin changes (even many years after your treatment), you could benefit from MLD to help you to relieve your symptoms and prevent a worsening of the condition.

If you would like to know more, please contact me via my website or by calling me on 07748 292662.

All too often ladies suffer the consequences of gynaecological cancer treatment thinking that that is the way things are going to be for the rest of their lives. Luckily, this isn’t always the case and with a little treatment, life could feel a whole lot better.
