Microneedling is coming to AK Clinic 🤍

After 25 years in beauty, I still love learning and finding ways to help you feel more confident in your skin.

Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time researching different skin treatments, exploring how they work, the evidence behind them and what they could offer my clients. Choosing what to introduce into the clinic has been a considered decision, and I’m excited to be investing in SkinPen microneedling.

As I develop the skin treatment side of the clinic, I want to offer treatments that support lasting improvements in skin quality, with realistic expectations and personalised care.

How can microneedling help ageing skin?

As we age, our skin produces less collagen and elastin—the proteins that help give it structure, firmness and elasticity. We may notice fine lines, changes in texture and skin that feels less supple.

Microneedling creates tiny, controlled punctures in the skin, encouraging its natural repair response and stimulating collagen production. Over time, this can help:

✨ Soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
✨ Improve texture for smoother-looking skin.
✨ Support firmer, more supple-looking skin.
✨ Reduce the appearance of acne scarring.

These improvements develop gradually over weeks and months. A course of treatments may be recommended, depending on your skin and your goals.

I’m excited to be expanding my focus on advanced skin treatments, bringing a new, luxurious facial massage experience to the clinic.

What is buccal massage?
“Buccal” means cheek. This specialist technique uses gloved fingers inside the cheeks, alongside massage on the outside of the face, to work with facial muscles and areas of tension.

One of these muscles is the buccinator, which forms part of your cheek and helps you chew. Working both inside and outside the cheeks allows a different approach from external facial massage alone.

Why choose this treatment?
It’s a hands-on experience focused on easing muscular tension and encouraging relaxation—a chance to unwind while giving your face some dedicated care.

And what about anti-ageing?
Often described as a rejuvenating massage, it can complement a skincare routine for clients concerned about ageing. Its focus is muscular relaxation, rather than proven long-term wrinkle reduction or lifting.

✨ BOTOX EDUCATION | Will Botox make me look frozen?

One of the most common things clients say to me is, “I want Botox, but I don’t want to look frozen.”

And I completely understand.

Botox doesn’t have to mean a completely expressionless face. When treatment is carefully planned, the aim can be to soften lines and reduce excessive muscle movement while still keeping you looking like you.

I personally prefer a natural-looking result — refreshed, softer and subtle rather than looking obviously “done”.

Every face is different, which is why I assess each client individually and discuss the result you’re hoping to achieve before treatment.

Sometimes, less really is more. 🤍

Soft, Natural Lip Blush 💋

Lip blush doesn’t have to mean a bold or heavily made-up lip.

This client wanted something soft, natural and beautifully defined — enhancing her own lip colour while creating a little more definition and balance.

The after photo is immediately following treatment, so there is some expected swelling and the colour is intentionally brighter at this stage. As the lips heal, the colour will soften considerably, leaving a much more subtle, natural finish.

Lip blush can help to enhance natural colour, define the lip border, improve the appearance of symmetry and give the lips a fresher, fuller-looking appearance without filler.

Every treatment is completely bespoke — the aim isn’t to change your lips, but to enhance what you naturally have. 🤍
