🌿 The "Sticky" Secret to a Spring Glow: Cleavers Lymphatic Tonic

​Looking for a natural way to de-puff and detox? Meet Cleavers (Galium aparine). You might know them as "Sticky Wi***es" "Sticky w**d" or "Goosegrass," but at Bee-Witching Bodycare, we know them as nature's ultimate spring cleaner!

​Your lymphatic system is your body’s waste disposal unit. When it’s sluggish, your skin can look dull and your body can feel heavy.

Cleavers work to "flush" the system, moving toxins out and bringing that healthy glow back to your skin.

​✨ How to Make Your Tonic

​Harvest with Care: Pick bright green, young cleavers (before they go to seed) and becareful where you harvest, you don't want to harvest from high pollution areas or where there's a risk the Cleavers have been sprayed with a pesticide. Pro-tip: Wear gloves while picking, as the tiny hooks can irritate sensitive skin!

​Cleanse: Wash the herbs thoroughly in cold water.

​Cold Infuse: Place a handful of bruised herbs in a jar of filtered water (this helps release the goodness of the cleavers)

​Wait: Let it soak for 24 hours (fridge or counter).

​Strain & Sip: Strain out the greens and enjoy!
Add a squeeze of lemon for a fresh, zesty kick or a slice of cucumber.

​Medication: Consult your doctor if you are on blood pressure or diuretic medication especially but I would always recommend consulting a doctor first anyway when always introducing something new to your diet.

​Identification: Only harvest if you are 100% sure of the plant. It should have a square stem and "stick" to your clothes!

​Inside-Out Beauty Tip: Don't waste the soaked herbs! Wrap them in a cloth and use them as a cooling compress for tired, puffy eyes while you drink your tonic. 🐝✨

Many of you know I created Bee-Witching Bodycare to find better solutions for our skin and the planet 🌎 but I recently sat down to do the "Mom Math" on my own family’s usage.
