Global Running Day feels like the perfect time to share this one. πββοΈ
When I got my London Marathon place, I had just 12 weeks' notice.
In reality, I only managed around 8 weeks of proper training. I picked up two injuries along the way, never ran further than 20km in training, and had never run beyond a half marathon before.
On race day, I stood on the start line alone. No support crew. No familiar faces in the crowd. Just 26.2 miles between me and the finish line.
There were plenty of physical battles and even more mental ones, but I kept putting one foot in front of the other.
4 hours 23 minutes later, I crossed the line with a medal around my neck and a huge sense of pride.
London Marathon taught me that you don't always need the perfect preparation, perfect conditions, or perfect circumstances. Sometimes you just need to keep moving forward.

Pain on the inside of the knee during or after running? πββοΈ
Medial (inner) knee pain is common in runners but itβs not always just a βknee problemβ.
Often the body is compensating for:
β’ poor hip control
β’ overpronation
β’ tight calves/hamstrings
β’ increased training load
β’ quadriceps tightness
Ignoring it and continuing to push through can eventually affect:
β οΈ running performance
β οΈ recovery
β οΈ movement quality
β οΈ long-term comfort
The goal is to identify WHY the irritation is building, not just temporarily calm the pain down.
