This covers:
• A full ear examination
• Assessment of the ear canal and eardrum
• Any advice or referral recommendations given
• Use of specialized equipment and clinician time

I frequently share content and photos related to ear wax to educate the public on its biological importance and to dispel common misconceptions. Ear wax, or cerumen, is a natural substance produced by the body that serves several essential functions, including protecting the ear canal from dust, debris, and microbial infections. Despite its critical role, it is often misunderstood or seen as unhygienic. By providing accurate information and visual examples, my goal is to normalize this natural process and promote healthier ear care practices. Encouraging awareness and understanding can help reduce the overuse of cotton swabs and other harmful cleaning methods that may damage the ear.

So from this I want those to understand that you should never feel embarrassed nor see that ear wax is unpleasant or dirty! This is something we all have that our body produces.

1 ear was microsuctioned today. Other ear was clear from no wax which is great to see! Both ear drums known as (tympanic membrane) were healthy. This chunk of ear wax had been giving my patient problems for 3 years. When going on holiday he did not tend to enjoy swimming because he knew that the water would cause problems because of the ear wax that was inside of his ear canal, water would tend to get trapped far down as the ear wax was right near his ear drum! He can now hear better and will have no problems when swimming!

Eat wax was rock solid!
