Building history - we love it! Take a look at our visitors book and old photos and postcards for more tales from the past.
A piece out of “An Inventory of Historical Monuments in Huntingdonshire” describes
George House “of the 17th century and of two storeys, timber-framed and plastered; the roofs are tiled. Some of the buildings have original chimney-stacks and exposed ceiling-beams.”
So many travelers have stayed in these rooms over the centuries, and we welcome you to rest awhile with us too!
Whether you’re visiting from near or far, we want to help you relax and find your feet as seamlessly as possible. Our guest information will help you discover everything the area has to offer: from history to eateries, to local attractions and activities.
Got tickets? Want to see the state rooms, heritage room, and Pellegrini murals of Kimbolton Castle? The next open house is on the 2nd of March, with a limited number of tickets on sale (check out TicketSource).
Nothing beats a cozy fireplace on a cold day 🤍

The quaint High Street of Kimbolton is not just good for a pretty walk, but full of history. A charter was granted to the Earl of Essex in 1200 to hold the first market in Kimbolton. The town continues to have much to offer, from cafes to shops and lovely walks through its historic streets.

Hi everyone, it’s Hayley here from Rest Awhile. Welcome to my page!
For the last few months I’ve been renovating a Grade ll listed property in Cambridgeshire, England, to make it Fully Functional. Functional design and ergonomics mean a lot to me - I’ve been an Occupational Therapist for 22years, and understand how living and working environments can influence our daily performance.
I’ll be sharing some of that journey with you - brace yourselves for a less glamorous version of myself as I DIY my way through dust and paint to bring Rest Awhile to completion.
