Sometimes love is not about big expensive things sometimes it is simply knowing the person you love well enough to understand what heals their soul. 💛

My Free Spirit Hippy has not been feeling herself lately after being poorly with the flu, so I decided she needed something more than four walls and medicine. She needed fresh air, nature, laughter, peace, and a little bit of magic. So what better idea than taking her on a motorcycle ride out to Matlock so she could hug trees, recharge her spirit, and reconnect with nature again. 🌳✨
While riding through the beautiful countryside, I even managed to find two little pin badges to represent my bikes the Honda Revere and the Honda Deauville which made us laugh because anyone who knows us knows how much the “Grumpy Biker & Free Spirit Hippy” adventures mean to us. 😂🏍️

To finish the day, I surprised her with a lovely meal next to the lake at Smithy’s Pond, surrounded by peaceful water, fresh air, and beautiful scenery. And honestly seeing her smile again was worth absolutely everything. 💛
Sometimes healing is not always found in tablets and rushing around. Sometimes healing is found in slowing down, sitting by the water, hugging trees, laughing together, and remembering that life is made up of little moments that become beautiful memories. 🌿✨

22 years together, many adventures, many ups and downs, but still making each other smile through life’s storms. 🌈

Last night the Free Spirit Hippy officially became a wildlife documentary narrator because the Grumpy Biker couldn’t wear his sleep apnea mask as he wasn’t feeling very well 😭😂
So there I was laying on the sofa recording the sounds of what can only be described as: “A tractor fighting a washing machine while a bear snores in the background…” 🚜🐻💨
One minute it was: GRRRRRRRRRR
Then complete silence 😳
And I’m there whispering: “Gaz… babe… are you still with us?” 😂
Then suddenly… SNORRRRRRRTTTTTTTT 💀🤣
But joking aside, sleep apnea is actually very serious and many people do not realise how much it affects someone’s body and mind. It can cause exhaustion, headaches, low oxygen levels, poor sleep, memory struggles, and pressure on the heart too. That little machine helps keep the airway open during sleep and can truly change somebody’s quality of life ❤️
So tonight please send positive energy to the Free Spirit Hippy because if that mask doesn’t go back on tonight I may need ear defenders, spiritual protection candles, and emergency snacks to survive another night 😂🕯️🌈
After 18 years together I can officially say: love is not blind it is just VERY tired 😭

20 YEARS LATER AND THE FREE SPIRIT HIPPY STILL SAYS “FIBRO OPTIC TREE” 🌳🤣

20 years ago I was trying to teach my Free Spirit Hippy how to say certain words properly and today, absolutely nothing has changed. 😂
Rachel-Christine was supposed to be having “10 minutes off the computer” while building her platform and helping the world with love, light, spirituality and mental health awareness but instead I thought, “Right time for another sp*ech and language lesson.” 😭🤣
So there I was again…
“Come on sweetheart, say these properly 😂
Squirrel 🐿️
Ambulance 🚑
Octopus 🐙
Rhinoceros 🦏
Hippopotamus 🦛
Mathematics 📚
Then she confidently hits me with
“Fibroaptictree.” 🌳😭🤣
I nearly flew backwards off the sofa.
And the worst part is she looked at me like SHE was the clever one. 😂😂
But truthfully, jokes aside, I wouldn’t change my Free Spirit Hippy for the world. ❤️
Rachel-Christine has chromosome sixteen deletion and dyslexia, and life has challenged her in ways most people will never understand yet she still wakes up every day trying to help others, spread kindness, build dreams and make people smile. 🌎✨
So yes she may absolutely destroy the English language daily 😭🤣 but she also has one of the kindest hearts I’ve ever known.
And after all these years, I still smile listening to her trying to say Rhinoceros like it’s a brand new species discovered in Stoke-on-Trent. 😂🦏

😂🏍️ WHEN YOUR FREE SPIRIT FINDS A HOOVER IN THE WILD 🏍️😂

You ever just stand there shaking your head wondering how your peaceful, barefoot, “let the universe guide me” wife somehow ends up adopting a vacuum cleaner like it’s a rescued animal? 🤦‍♂️
One minute we’re out enjoying the sunshine birds singing proper calm vibes
Next minute she’s spotted a hoover in the grass like it’s a sign from the universe itself 😅
Now don’t get me wrong I love her. She’s got the biggest heart, the kind that sees beauty in everything even a dusty old hoover abandoned in the wild. But let’s be honest
This wasn’t a spiritual awakening this was a full-on Mrs Doubtfire moment 😂
There she is standing there looking at it like,
“Maybe this is my calling today
And I’m just thinking
“Love you didn’t have the energy to brush this morning but suddenly we’re out here rescuing hoovers?!” 🤣
That’s the thing about my Free Spirit Hippy
She might be tired she might be worn out but she’ll still find magic in the madness even if that magic comes with a plug and a bit of dust 💨✨
And me?
I’ll stand there arms folded shaking my head pretending I don’t love every second of it 😏
Because life with her is never boring
It’s random it’s chaotic it’s full of moments you couldn’t make up if you tried
And honestly I wouldn’t change it for the world 💛

So there I was minding my own business, probably thinking about peace, quiet, and not spending money on things we definitely do not need
and then my beautiful Free Spirit Hippy spots the claw machine 👀
Now, any normal person would walk past
Not her.
No, no she locked eyes with a camel teddy like it was some kind of spiritual calling from the universe itself 🐪✨
“I can feel it, Gary this one is mine!”
First go the machine drops the camel appears
And suddenly I’m stood next to a woman celebrating like she’s just won the lottery, Wimbledon, and world peace all in one go 🤣
“I DID IT! FIRST GO! LOOK GARY! IT’S DESTINY!”
I’m stood there proud confused slightly concerned
Then I look up
“PRIZE EVERY TIME – £6.99”
Silence.
The realisation hit harder than my bike hitting a pothole 😭
That wasn’t winning, love that was called buying a camel with extra steps.
Seven quid later, she’s hugging this teddy like it’s our fifth child, and I’m standing there wondering if I should’ve just bought her a real camel from Facebook Marketplace.
Still
seeing her smile like that?
Worth every penny.
(don’t tell her I said that.)

It’s not 30 degrees outside, but even if it was I’m sweating in places I didn’t even know could sweat and what’s she doing?!
SITTING THERE

IN A FULL-ON JUMPER?! 🧥😤
I’ve got the sun blazing, I’m overheating, questioning my entire existence
and she’s sat there like some peaceful little Buddha eyes closed breathing like she’s on another planet 🧘‍♀️🌈

“Are you not hot?!” I say
No answer just a little smile like she’s unlocked some secret level of life I didn’t get the memo for 😒
Apparently she’s “meditating through the heat”
Meditating?!
I’m barely surviving it!! 😂🔥
And don’t even get me started
She says things like “it’s about inner calm”
INNER CALM?! I’ve got inner BOILING going on!! 😡🤣
But you know what
As much as it winds me up
There’s something about it
While I’m fighting the heat, getting stressed, losing my head
She’s just sat there calm grounded not letting anything get to her 💭
Still think the jumper’s madness though 😆🧥
But maybe just maybe
She’s onto something

You wake up thinking
“Quick wee, quick start, fresh day ahead…”
BUT NOOOO not with the Grumpy Biker 😆
This man treats his morning p*e like it’s a slow-motion waterfall experience 🌊
No rush no urgency just standing there like he’s waiting for nature to send a second opinion 😂
Meanwhile
The Free Spirit Hippy is outside the door like:
📱 “Is he alright in there or has he started a new life?”
Because let’s be honest
When that morning wee hits, it’s supposed to be priority number ONE 🚨
Not a 10-minute meditation session with background sound effects 🤦‍♀️😂
You could:
✔ Make a brew ☕
✔ Scroll your phone 📱
✔ Question your whole life choices
And he’d STILL be there like
“Nearly done. 👀
But hey
That’s the Grumpy Biker for you 💛
Taking life and his morning stream
one very slow drop at a time 😂
