Turns out “I’m going to start an activewear brand” also means becoming the packer, photographer, website person and the woman filming herself doing all of it 😂

I took a chance on myself with Empire, and I’m still figuring things out as I go. Some days I feel proud. Other days I question absolutely everything.

Then I see someone wearing Empire, and I remember why I wanted to do this in the first place. 🖤

That’s the whole point of Empire Activewear — pieces that make getting dressed effortless. Because comfort and put-together were never supposed to be a trade-off.

When I started Empire, I didn’t know everythiny. And I still don’t.

I researched. I read book after book. I paid for courses, studied marketing, learnt about fabrics, branding, content, ads… all while running another busy business alongside Empire.

And I’m still learning now.

I don’t think you ever reach a point in business where you know it all. Things change, you make mistakes, you learn, you adapt and you keep going.

The more I’ve invested in me — my knowledge, my confidence and my ability to figure things out — the more Empire has grown with me.

Still studying. Still learning. Still building. 🖤

There’s something surreal about seeing something that once only existed as an idea… now sitting right in front of me

AND … the most humbling part of building something of your own is realizing that it only grows because people choose to support it 💝

I built a women’s activewear brand from scratch… but there’s a lot you don’t see behind those words.

I didn’t have investors.
I didn’t have a big team.
I didn’t have a fashion background or some perfect business plan.
I’m not a big talker and I’m crap at sales

I just had an idea that I couldn’t seem to let go of.

Empire started small. Really small. Stock everywhere, packing orders myself, learning as I went, making mistakes, changing things, doubting myself… and then getting up and doing it all again the next day.

There have been days where I’ve thought, what am I actually doing? 😂

Days with no orders.
Products I thought would fly that didn’t.
Money spent on things that didn’t work.
And plenty of moments where giving up would have been easier.

But then an order comes through.
Someone tags me wearing Empire.
A woman tells me she finally feels confident in leggings again.

And I remember why I started.

I’m still building it. I’m still learning. I definitely haven’t “made it”.

But when I look back at where Empire started compared to where it is now, I realise something…

Sometimes you’re so busy trying to get to the next level, you forget that you’re already standing in a place you once dreamed about.

So this is the real founder story.

Not overnight success.
Just one woman who had an idea… and kept going. 🖤
