Before losing weight, Harriet struggled to walk 20 yards, had difficulty sleeping and even received cruel abuse from strangers. Her sister Ali gave her the encouragement she needed to change her life for the better by joining her local Slimming World group, and she hasn’t looked back!

It’s hydration week so let’s talk about water! A common question is “do I need to drink water in order to burn fat?” The answer is no - water doesn’t cause us to lose weight, nor does it help us to burn fat better.
6-8 mugs or glasses of fluid each day is the ideal for good hydration. Any drink counts, apart from alcohol (sorry). With Slimming World you can enjoy unlimited sugar-free squash or fizzy drinks, tea, herbal tea, coffee and of course... water. While it’s important to sip away throughout the day increasing your fluid intake won’t affect your weight loss but it will help wonderfully with your digestion, keeping skin healthy and concentration too – which can be waning a little by the time we get to Thursday! I can’t let this day go by without singing the praises of this incredible woman, Margaret Miles-Bramwell.
Margaret founded Slimming World in 1969 after struggling with her own weight since childhood. Slimming World was born from her kitchen table, with a passion and determination to help others lose weight and the burden of shame and self-criticism! Her program was a new approach to weight management with a focus on the freedom to eat delicious free foods. Freedom from humiliation and guilt. All with no hunger!
And 53 years later, the approach, the principles and the passion have not changed. I can only imagine the amount of people Margaret has helped over the last half century. It’s mind blowing really! It’s in the millions!!! So many people are now healthier, fitter, slimmer; living the life they were born to live unrestricted by weight; all thanks to Margaret!
So here’s to you Margaret. You are most certainly one in a million 🙌⭐️🥰

This is Colleen Alway. She was rushed to hospital with heart failure in 2019. She weighed 27 stone, smoked 40 a day, and could barely walk. Only 15% of her heart was actually still functioning and doctors told her she didn’t have long left to live. Her heartbroken family sat at her bedside and were advised to "get her affairs in order". But, Colleen wasn’t going to give up that easy. After leaving hospital, she decided to join a local slimming club. Her anxiety was ‘through the roof’ as she struggled up the steps to the club on a pair of sticks - and she worried people would point and laugh at her. But, she mustered up the strength to go in, and once she did she never looked back. Colleen started making little changes to her lifestyle - eating grilled food, joining a walking group, and giving up smoking. She’s now lost half her body weight and is happier and healthier than ever. What an inspiration! 💪❤️
