Our latest addition to the family and will in future be my daughter’s psychiatric support dog. Meet Meera, border collie x Australian shepherd and currently 11 weeks old. 😍🥰

Just sat reading that Richard Tice is now claiming to be receiving death threats over his comments. I don’t condone death threats but pretty sure they are about existent as his so called experts that are “afraid” to tell the SEND community about their advice.

I will make an assumption here as I know the guidelines have changed on ear defenders- it is now advised that headphones are used (I recently did my Advanced Sensory Needs Practitioner training), as it has been shown that completely stopping all sound is causing more damage and often these aids are being misused.

It is better to work with the individual on what they can listen to and what they prefer- my son can only use his headphones where as my daughter can use loops or headphones depending on the situation and her level of tolerance.

I don’t know what he was expecting attacking an entire group of vulnerable individuals, especially children, but we will not stand idly by and let that happen.

Aids are there for a reason, but we have to make sure we use them correctly so we don’t do more damage than good.
