🌸 Menopause recognised as a potential disability — what this means for women 🌸
A major new ruling from the Equality and Human Rights Commission has confirmed that menopause can be considered a disability under the Equality Act when symptoms are severe, long-lasting and significantly impact daily life.
This is a huge step forward in recognising what so many women already know:
➡️ Hot flushes, sleep disruption, fatigue, anxiety, brain fog and memory problems can deeply affect your wellbeing, confidence and performance at work.
➡️ Women deserve understanding — not minimisation.
➡️ And employers have a legal responsibility to offer reasonable adjustments when symptoms are substantial and long-term.

I'm so glad that menopause screening will be added to NHS Health Checks next year.
Too many women have had to go through the menopause alone; screening will help GPs spot symptoms sooner and offer the right advice and support.
