Not sure where to go when you need urgent medical care? An Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) could be the right place. π₯π
Urgent Treatment Centres provide medical care for illnesses and injuries that need prompt attention but are not life-threatening. They can help you get the right treatment without visiting A&E. π
You may be able to visit an Urgent Treatment Centre for:
π©Ή Minor burns and scalds
π€ Sprains and strains
𦴠Minor broken bones and fractures
βοΈ Cuts and wounds that may need stitches
π‘οΈ Minor infections and illnesses
π Insect bites and stings
π Ear and throat infections
π€ Fever or minor head injuries
Always call 999 or go to A&E if someone has a life-threatening emergency, such as:
π¨ Chest pain or suspected heart attack
π¨ Signs of a stroke
π¨ Severe breathing difficulties
π¨ Serious injuries or heavy bleeding
π¨ Loss of consciousness
If you're unsure where to go, NHS 111 can help you find the right service for your needs. π
Getting the right care in the right place helps NHS services care for everyone more efficiently. π

β¨It came to me earlier this week, I've been facilitating training to support people living with dementia for 15years this month.β¨
I've met so many people who have trusted to book in with me to support their commitment in becoming more dementia informed and in turn to support loved ones, people in their care, clients and people in their community.
I've had the privelege of hearing hundreds of stories about why people want to connect more deeply through touch, although, for me it was never just about touch.
It has always been about enabling a person to retain autonomy, agency, about dignity, about communicating on their terms .... with compassionate curiousity. It has been about changing perspectives and human rights.
It has been about the depth of human connection and truly meeting a person where they are .
Many people have supported and inspired me over the years, too many to mention, but my clients and mum have always been my most generous teachers.
Thank you to every one of you who take time to follow and support my work, my passion. Thank you to everyone who has attended my training, sought mentorship or consultations - whether you use your knowledge to support the occasional client keeping your practice inclusive, or whether you specialise in this deeply rewarding vocation, whether you're a carer, professional or supporting a loved one I am grateful to you for taking the time to make positive changes in how we include and support people within our communities living with dementia.
That is what is truly worth celebrating.
