Part 1 did SO well, so here’s Part 2 🤎

And honestly, I hope this one helps you if you’re new to the massage industry or you’re currently trying to figure out how to actually run your business. These are things I’ve changed over time that have made such a huge difference to the way I work - not just as a massage therapist, but as a business owner.

I’ve learned that you don’t have to:

• Fill every available appointment
• Answer every DM immediately
• Work evenings to be successful
• Offer endless treatments
• Keep your prices low to keep clients
• Copy what everyone else is doing
• Post content with no strategy

Your business should work FOR YOU too

And I think that’s something we don’t talk about enough when you’re new to the industry. You can be a brilliant massage therapist and still need to learn how to manage your diary, set boundaries, price your services, create a premium client experience and market yourself effectively.

I definitely didn’t have it all figured out when I started… I’ve learned so much through trial and error.

So if you’re a massage therapist, beauty therapist, holistic therapist or you’re thinking about starting your own treatment business, save this for later 🤎

And if you missed Part 1, go back and read that one too.

3 mistakes that can make massage harder than it needs to be

If you’re new to massage training, you might think you need to work harder, press deeper and move faster to give a good massage. Actually, the opposite can often be true.

Using too much pressure, working from an uncomfortable position and concentrating so hard on remembering the routine that you forget to feel the movement can all make massage techniques feel more difficult.

Good massage isn’t about doing more. It’s about becoming more intentional with your pressure, positioning, touch and communication.

As you develop your skills through practice, the routine becomes less about remembering ‘what comes next’ and more about responding to the person underneath your hands.

That’s the difference between simply following a massage routine and starting to think like a massage therapist.

Be honest which one do you think you struggle with most? 1, 2 or 3?

How much pressure should you use during a massage?

This is one of the biggest questions I hear from people who are new to massage training and the answer isn’t simply ‘light’ ‘medium’ or ‘deep’

The right pressure depends on the individual client, the area you’re working on, your technique and most importantly, how your client is responding

As a beginner massage therapist, learn to look beyond your hands

Listen to their feedback. Watch their breathing. Notice if they’re tensing or moving away from your hands. Then adapt.

Deeper doesn’t automatically mean better!

Good massage is about learning to understand the person in front of you - not applying the same pressure to everyone.

This is why proper massage training should teach you more than just a routine. You need to understand technique, client communication, anatomy and how to adapt your treatment.

What’s the thing you find hardest about learning massage? Tell me below… I might make a post about it next 👀

Save this for your next massage practice session 🤎

✨ An exciting new chapter for MERJ Massage Studio ✨

After a lot of reflection, I'm so excited to share that I've completely reimagined my treatment menu.

Going forward, I will be offering one signature massage experience: The Sacred Flow Ritual.

If you've been following me for a while, you'll know how much massage means to me. It's never just been about relieving tight muscles - it's about creating a space where you can slow down, breathe, reconnect and simply be. Over the years, I've developed my own unique flow, blending the nurturing rhythms of Lomi Lomi, the grounding techniques of Swedish massage and the therapeutic depth of deep tissue into one continuous, intuitive experience.

The Sacred Flow Ritual is rooted in presence, intention, awareness and connection. I see the body as one connected vessel, so every treatment flows seamlessly rather than working on isolated areas. It's the way I've naturally worked for years, and it finally has a name that truly reflects my philosophy.

The ritual is available in 45, 60, 75, 90 and 120-minute journeys, so whether you're looking for focused work on your back, scalp or face, or a deeply immersive head-to-toe experience, there's a session to suit you.

This change feels incredibly authentic to me. Rather than offering several different massage styles, I'm choosing to offer the one treatment that best represents who I am as a therapist and the experience I want every client to receive.

Bookings are now open, and I'd love to welcome you into this new chapter.

You can explore the different journey lengths and book your session here:

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. I can't wait for you to experience The Sacred Flow Ritual 🤎

I’ve been a massage therapist for well over 5 years now (mental I know) but my approach has changed MASSIVELY.

Not just in how I treat clients but in how I run my business

I used to think success in massage therapy meant:
• Working every day
• Being constantly available
• Saying yes to everyone
• Burning out to build (burn out is so not cool and gives me the ick when people glorify it)

Now I know better!

Building a successful massage therapy business isn’t just about becoming a better therapist

It’s also about boundaries, confidence, systems and creating sustainability

This is something I now teach other massage therapists too.
You can build a profitable business without running yourself into the ground

If you’re a massage therapist, which one hit home for you most? 👇

Are you a qualified massage therapist or bodyworker who feels stuck in routine treatments?

Maybe your sessions feel repetitive.
Maybe your transitions feel rigid.
Maybe you know your work is good - but something feels missing.

You know there’s more available. More connection, intuition and flow.

This is exactly why I created Lomi Lomi: The Art of Sacred Flow.

This online masterclass is designed for qualified bodyworkers and massage therapists who are ready to elevate their practice beyond technique alone. Rooted in the spirit of Aloha, Lomi Lomi is more than massage.

It is presence.
Awareness.
Connection.
Flow.

It teaches us to move away from rigid, segmented treatments and instead work with the body as one continuous journey.

Rather than treating the body in pieces, we learn to work with the whole body as one connected experience.

Inside this training, you’ll learn how to:
✨ Create seamless transitions
✨ Develop intuitive touch
✨ Build confidence in full-body flow
✨ Deepen connection with clients
✨ Transform your treatments into something truly unforgettable

The masterclass includes 7 modules and your learning experience includes:

✓ In-depth video lessons
✓ Voice-over teaching
✓ Quizzes to test your knowledge
✓ Downloadable manual
✓ 24/7 access
✓ Certificate upon completion

This training is for qualified practitioners only. You must already hold a relevant bodywork or massage qualification to enrol.

To honour this launch, founding students can enrol at the special investment of £280. This Founding Offer is available for 2 weeks only and is the lowest investment this training will ever be offered at. After the founding period closes, the investment will rise to the Launch Investment of £350. The full investment for this masterclass will then be £444.

As this training grows, the investment will rise to reflect its depth, value and transformational potential.

Finance options available through the platform. Enrolment is available directly through my website via the link in my bio.

If you’re ready to move beyond routine and into sacred flow, I’d love to welcome you inside.

DM me with ‘FLOW’ or with any questions ✨

Most people think becoming a massage therapist is all about learning techniques, but the reality? Some of the biggest lessons have nothing to do with massage at all!

Trust me - I’ve MADE all the mistakes and I wonder if certain courses contained certain information would I of still made them?

From learning over 10 modalities, to not knowing how to say no cause the people pleaser in me feels bad to not understanding my ideal client! Trust I’ve been there 😂😂😂

These are the things I wish I’d known from day one

My massage training course for beginners goes beyond just teaching techniques!

Which one surprised you the most? ⬇️
