This is something I’m really aware of having two daughters, they’re always wanting to try new products their friends have used, or things they’ve seen on you tube or tik tok.
Most of it just isn’t suitable for their young delicate skins!
It’s so important to have the right information to make informed decisions when the future of our children’s skin is at stake.

Recent news highlights concerns over children as young as 8 using potent skincare ingredients influenced by social media. Children's skin is delicate so it's important to know what ingredients to avoid and how best to look after young skin...

⚠️ Skin Sensitivity: Young children typically have more sensitive skin compared to adults. Strong active ingredients, such as retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), and salicylic acid, can cause irritation, redness, itching, and even chemical burns.

⚠️ Absorption: Children's skin may absorb active ingredients more readily than adults' skin due to its thinner barrier, which may have adverse effects on their health.

⚠️ Allergic Reactions: Children may be more prone to allergic reactions to skincare ingredients, leading to allergic dermatitis or other allergic responses.

⚠️ Disruption of Skin Barrier: Strong active ingredients can disrupt the natural skin barrier function, leading to increased susceptibility to infections, moisture loss, and other skin problems.

⚠️ Long-term Effects: The long-term effects of children using products with strong active ingredients are not well-studied but repeated exposure to harsh chemicals may compromise the health of their skin over time.

If a youngster is starting to get blackheads, pimples, or oily skin, we recommend our Teen Actives range. This has been specifically formulated to suit younger skin and it is effective without being damaging. We recommend using it from early teens.

For youngsters who don’t have any skin issues, try our Ultra Soothing products which are effective and super gentle.

♻️ Plastic bottles – made from PET and HDP and are widely recycled by authorities around the UK

♻️ Plastic pumps – made from a combination of plastics and can be recycled in component form

♻️ Airless pumps – made from plastic and aluminum and can be recycled in component form

♻️ Glass amber bottles and jars - are widely recycled by authorities around the UK

♻️ Aluminium bottles - are widely recycled by authorities around the UK

♻️ Cartons and delivery boxes - fully recyclable

♻️ Packaging – our packing peanuts are made from biodegradable corn starch so you can either add them to your compost heap or your garden waste bin
