Sharing the voice I needed when I was younger - on marriage, family & womanhood (with a side of laughter!)

Wife to my best friend, mum of two, living with faith, joy & purpose. Sharing the voice I needed when I was younger — on marriage, family & womanhood (with a side of laughter!)

One thing that's made our mornings much calmer?

Spending a few minutes to do simple things straight after school.

When my children get home from school, they:

👟 Put their shoes away 🎒 Pack their school bag for tomorrow🧺 Put dirty clothes in the laundry basket 👔 Hang up their school uniform

It means we're not scrambling around looking for things the next morning.

More importantly, it teaches them responsibility for their own belongings instead of relying on me to remember everything...

Small systems. Big difference 💛

Follow for simple home systems that reduce the mental load of family life.

I used to say this all the time..

Not because nobody wanted to help, but because it felt quicker, easier and less frustrating than explaining what I needed.

But every time I said it, I was reinforcing the idea that I was the default.

The default planner. The default rememberer. The default problem solver.

And then I'd wonder why I felt exhausted.

If you're trying to create a home that feels shared instead of carried, follow along 💛

Because I was the system and default for everything 😫

I grew up seeing one person hold everything together at home - so I thought that was normal.

It’s not.

Homes with multiple people need shared systems.

If you’re in this season, follow for simple home systems that reduces the mental load you're carrying ❤️

But I’d rather follow the calling on my life than stay comfortable 🤍

Building simple home systems for busy mums...one reset at a time.

25/05/2026

This one for me is LOUD because I used to resent an environment I helped create.

One of the hardest things I had to unlearn in marriage and motherhood was the belief that if something wasn’t done my way, it wasn’t done properly.

But constantly stepping in, correcting, redoing and over-carrying left me exhausted.

Not because I had no support around me… but because I struggled to let people grow into responsibility without micromanaging the process 😮‍💨

Shared responsibility in a home doesn’t happen overnight...people genuinely need room, consistency and trust to learn a new rhythm too 💛

This shift changed so much for me 🫶🏾

Learning to not repeat some of the things I experienced growing up ❤️

23/05/2026

Always makes me smile 😊

And this is without having a community - I'm living proof of it 🫶🏾

Once you adopt simple systems in your home, I promise you that your experience of motherhood COMPLETELY changes.

If you want help adapting simple systems tailored to your family and needs, comment RESET ❤️

And obviously this will look different for every family but I'll say this til I'm blue in the face - get your family involved!!! 💛

In our home, the kids are responsible for folding and putting away their own clothes and my husband and I help each other with ours depending on the week.

The point isn’t rigid rules, it’s creating simple systems so everything doesn’t fall on one person all the time 🫠

18/05/2026

So much of motherhood quietly becomes one long list of things mums are expected to notice, remember and carry 😮‍💨

And because it’s all so normalised, it often doesn’t even feel like “too much” at first… just life.

But over time, that constant mental load adds up.

Not because mums aren’t capable - but because everything is sitting on one person’s shoulders instead of being shared in a simple, supportive way.

In our home, I’ve found things feel lighter when there’s more structure and shared responsibility built into the everyday rhythms - so I’m not the only one holding everything in my head.

That’s the work I care about most: helping mums create calmer home systems that reduce what they’re constantly managing alone 💛

If this resonates, you can follow along for more simple home rhythms or message me “RESET” if you want help creating yours 🫶🏾
