The lads dug deep and got the win yesterday.

It was a tough game for both sides on a heavy pitch, but there was no shortage of effort. Both teams went at it right until the final whistle in what was a tight contest throughout.

We missed all of our kicks, which kept it right on the edge and it genuinely could have gone either way.

More importantly, the support from friends, family and the wider rugby community was outstanding. It was a real reflection of what Lee meant to so many people, and what rugby league is all about, family and community!

The day was about remembering Lee, raising awareness and supporting Pancreatic Cancer UK, a fantastic charity that helps thousands of people and their families every year.

A huge thank you to Sheryl, Lisa and Dennis for the hard work they put in behind the scenes to help make the day happen, delivering the post-match speeches and presenting the awards.

It took real strength for Dennis and Sheryl to stand up in front of everyone, especially with how emotional the moment was. It genuinely touched the whole crowd and was a powerful reminder of why the day meant so much.

A big thank you as well to the Junior and Womens Masters rugby section volunteers who stepped up on the day, getting stuck in without being asked. That kind of attitude doesn’t go unnoticed and it’s a credit to the club’s rugby community.

Congratulations to our Full Back, Reece Wilcock (sponsored by Dolled by mads), who picked up Opposition Man of the Match after a top performance.

A big thank you to Leigh Miners Rangers Community Rugby League Club for their support and another brilliant, hard-fought game. We look forward to heading over there for next years Lee Lomax Charity Match.
