It’s official. We’re published. 📖

I’m incredibly proud to be one of the 18 women featured in ‘The Matriarchal Economy’ – a fabulous collaboration book exploring what it can look like to build a successful business differently.

This isn’t a book about one version of success. It’s about the messy, brilliant, real-life stories behind the businesses we build. About ambition alongside family, relationships, health and everything else life throws at us.

Being asked to contribute meant putting my own story down on paper and reflecting on how far I’ve come – something I don’t often stop to do. My chapter is Riaz al-Rizq and my hope is that readers take permission from my story: permission to slow down, to trust their own rhythm, and to recognise that abundance is not always found in having more, but in knowing what truly nourishes you. This chapter is a story of faith, grief, motherhood, healing, and remembering. It explores how I learned to build a life and business that honours my values, my body, and my relationship with God, rather than chasing success at the expense of myself.

To stand alongside these incredible women at the launch in Leeds was pretty special.

A huge thank you to Corinna Nicol for curating the book, bringing us all together, and creating the space for these stories to be shared. 💜

The Matriarchal Economy is now available to buy, you can find your copy here: https://link.amazon/B042r6LHW

And I’d love to know – what does success look like for you, on your terms?

What if abundance isn't what we've been taught?

Tomorrow, I'll be celebrating the launch of The Matriarchal Economy with Corinna Nicol Connect Women In Biz and I'm honoured to have contributed a chapter called Riaz al-Rizq (The Gardens of Sustenance).
This chapter is dedicated to my mum, Riaz. May Allah grant her Jannah.

Writing it took me through some of the hardest and most transformative seasons of my life and reminded me that rizq is so much more than money.
Sometimes rizq arrives as healing.
Sometimes it arrives as community.
Sometimes it arrives as the exact person you need at the exact time you need them.

Swipe through to read more.

I'd love to know:
What has been an unexpected form of rizq in your life?

A Winter Treat & Retreat
Softness, Warmth, and Great Company

As the nights draw in and the cold settles over Yorkshire, there’s something deeply comforting about gifting yourself a day that feels warm from the inside out.
I've curated The Harrogate Treat & Retreat for you as your winter pick-me-up!
Betty's afternoon tea & Turkish baths!

A gentle, joy‑filled day designed for women who want softness, laughter, and a beautiful treat to look forward to.

Your Exclusive Betty's Experience:
We will begin the day in our private space at Bettys, tucked away from the bustle, where everything feels calm, elegant, and beautifully held.
Easy conversation with women who feel like instant good company.
It’s the kind of afternoon tea that makes you slow down without even trying.

We will then move onto the Harrogate Turkish Baths as the evening begins. Warm rooms, gentle heat, steam that melts winter tension, and that delicious feeling of doing something purely for yourself.
It’s cosy.
It’s soothing.
It's Nurturing!

It’s the perfect winter treat.

Pain is not normal. It's common.
Common does not mean acceptable.

Women have been conditioned to minimise, tolerate, and push through pain in a way that no other group is asked to. Period pain, pelvic pain, pain during 'seggs', pain with ovulation, and pain with movement. All dismissed as “just part of being a woman.”

But pain is a message, not a personality trait.

It’s your body signalling imbalance, inflammation, tension, trauma, misalignment, or emotional holding. It’s your womb asking for attention, not endurance.

When we normalise pain, we silence women.
When we question pain, we empower them.

In my work at Nurturing Heart & Womb, I support women to reconnect with their bodies, understand their symptoms, and explore gentle, holistic ways of easing pelvic discomfort.
From Mizan Therapy to cycle awareness to pelvic steaming and somatic emotional work.
Your pain deserves curiosity, not dismissal.
Your body deserves care, not coping.

If you’ve been living with pelvic pain, period pain, or discomfort you’ve been told to “just get on with,” reach out. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

I'm a qualified psychotherapist and Mizan practitioner based in Leeds 8, North Leeds.
