⚠️ New UK Aesthetic Regulations – What Patients Need To Know

The UK Government is introducing stricter safety regulations within the aesthetics industry.

Due to the rapid growth of cosmetic treatments, there has unfortunately been an increase in unqualified individuals performing prescription procedures without proper assessment, leading to a rise in complications.

From June 2025, botulinum toxin must be prescribed following a face-to-face consultation with a qualified prescriber.

This ensures:

• Proper patient assessment
• Safer prescribing practices
• Higher standards across the industry
• Better protection for patients

With my background in dentistry and advanced knowledge of facial anatomy, patient safety has always been at the centre of my approach to aesthetic treatments.

If you are considering treatment in the coming months, it may be helpful to schedule your consultation in advance as these regulations come into effect.

Deciding to start Botox treatments is a very personal choice. It’s not just about understanding what Botox is, but also knowing when it will give you the best results.

Prevention or Correction?
Botox can be used: • For prevention – between the ages of 25 and 30, to prevent facial expression lines from becoming permanent. This helps stop wrinkles from deepening over time. • For correction – usually after the age of 30, when wrinkles become more noticeable and skin starts to lose its elasticity.

It depends on the type of wrinkles
Botox works best on expression lines, such as:
• Frown lines (between the eyebrows)
• Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
• Horizontal forehead lines.

If you have static wrinkles (those visible even when your face is at rest), other treatments may be needed. Important 🚨 Botox shouldn’t be your first choice – taking care of your skin condition will give better and longer-lasting results when the right skincare routine is in place.
