Meet FF Davie!

🚒 Why did you decide to join DWFRS?

I joined the fire service because I’ve always wanted to make a positive difference in people’s lives when they need it most. It’s a career where I can learn new things, support others and make my children proud. I want to show them that with hard work and determination, you can achieve whatever you put your mind to.

🚒 How you found the on-call recruitment process?

The recruitment process was challenging for me but very rewarding. It shown me that even when I failed at the first hurdle, I came back determined to try again.. The support ive received throughout really showed me how much everyone pulls together and why I wanted to be apart of the fire service.

🚒 How has it’s been for you meeting and bonding with your new team at Portland fire station?

Everyone has been very supportive from the start. It’s been great getting to know the team, I’m really looking forward to working with them and learning from their experiences.

🚒 What you are most looking forward to in your new career?

I’m really looking forward to learning new things, gaining experience and building my skills along the way. I know there’ll be challenges, but I’m looking forward to taking them on and being part of a service that makes a real difference in the community.
