TOP TIPS FOR HEALTHY EXTENSIONS ABROAD

1. Choose a Mineral Suncream
Mineral-based suncreams are generally less likely to cause discolouration than chemical suncreams, making them a safer option for extension wearers.

2. Pre-Soak & Protect
Hair acts like a sponge. Before heading to the beach or pool, thoroughly soak your extensions with fresh bottled water and apply a generous amount of conditioner. Then secure your hair in a bun.
This helps reduce the amount of salt water or chlorinated water the extensions can absorb.

3. Wash with Bottled Water Where Possible
If practical, rinsing or washing your hair with bottled water can help minimise exposure to minerals and chemicals commonly found in hotel water systems.

4. Pack a Hard Water Shampoo & Conditioner
Products such as Malibu C Hard Water Wellness Shampoo & Conditioner can help protect against mineral build-up and reduce the risk of discolouration while travelling.

After having children, many women notice their hair never quite returns to its former thickness. That was exactly Tara’s concern. She missed the fullness she once had, especially through the sides, and wanted to restore volume in a way that looked completely natural.

Like many first time clients, Tara was also understandably cautious. She’d previously worn extensions that had caused damage, so choosing a method that would protect the health of her natural hair was the priority.

After a detailed consultation, we created a bespoke plan tailored to her hair’s unique growth pattern. Rather than fitting one continuous row, I custom fitted a mini weft in three separate sections. This allowed me to work with the natural direction of her hair growth, particularly around the sides, where the hair falls forward toward the face.

Why does that matter? Because extensions should always support your natural hair, not fight against it. By placing each section in alignment with Tara’s own growth pattern, we avoided unnecessary tension, encouraged a healthier grow-out, and ensured maximum comfort.

To achieve the perfect blend, we used a combination of two balayage shades, carefully selected to match her natural colour and density. Not all of the hair was needed because the goal was subtle. The final result was finished with a soft cut for that effortless “your hair looks amazing” effect. The best extensions are the ones nobody can detect 🙌🏻
