A bit about meโฆ. Iโm Courtenay Jane, I own and run Courtenay Jane hair extensions. Fitting the extensions is only half the jobโฆ
A brand new set of weft extensions, but this is where the magic really happens.
Cutting, layering, blending, styling and setting, all the little details that take a set of extensions from simply being fitted to actually looking like they belong in your hair.
I love keeping the length and fullness while adding plenty of shape and movement, so the extensions donโt just hang underneath the natural hair.
The fit matters. The cut matters. The finish matters.

The cut makes the difference between a good set of hair extensions and a great set of hair extensions.
After a brief โmaybe I want highlightsโ moment from Kimberly, we were left with some softer tonal pieces showing through her level 4, so for this set we switched up her extension colours slightly and actually worked with those tones rather than trying to hide them.
We fitted a fresh 3 row weave and then came my favourite partโฆ the haircut.
Plenty of layering and shaping to take away that heavy โextensionโ look and get the hair moving as one. The difference a proper cut makes to a set of extensions is HUGE.
Still full, but with shape, movement and those softer tones running through.
Because fitting the extensions is only half the jobโฆ the cut is what brings it all together ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ

This is the 3rd fitting of this hair ๐ซถ๐ป 8 week refit for this 2 row mini weft
Iโm privileged that clients confide in me with their highest of highs and lowest of lows. This particular client has unfortunately recently gone through a lowest of lows. I know my regulars like the back of my hand and when I started taking out the first row I instantly noticed something unusual for this clientโฆ. a lot of shedding, I didnโt panic, I didnโt hide it, we discussed it and slightly reduced the weeks between her next appointment to keep a closer eye on it. Excess shedding doesnโt automatically mean the extensions have to go but it does need to be monitored. Hair health comes firstโฆ always!

This just feels so beautiful ๐
The way the evening light pours into the studio feels almost symbolic.
Warm. Peaceful. Golden. A little reminder that everything really does come together in its own time.
Standing here, seeing this space slowly become what I imagined, I feel so grateful. Thereโs a feeling in my heart that I canโt quite explainโฆ just this sense that Iโm exactly where Iโm supposed to be, and that what lies ahead is meant for me.
Trusting the journey. Trusting the timing. Trusting that some things find us when weโre ready for them ๐ค

My first stop was the Thames Hospice superstore in Reading, they always have great furniture, they up-cycle their donations in house by volunteers so you can get beautiful hand painted furniture in gorgeous colours at bargain prices! Sadly nothing suitable today though.
Next on to Fannyโs antiques in Reading, again love this place itโs a real treasure trove. They had loads of big bits of furniture but I had already bought and up-cycled my cabinet/coffee area from a charity shop.
If you love a browse for nothing in particular I recommend both these shops!
