Death is my daily bread and butter. But it’s not everyday I get mentioned in a dying patient’s last wishes. She wasn’t even 50. An Ideal patient battling a difficult myeloma since 2019. Temporarily we achieved victory…. Till 2025. By this time she’d progressed to her 5th line of treatment. Sadly she became too ill after that to have anymore. When I accepted defeat, I hugged her and told her to go home. She understood. Sobbed and said ‘I’m not ready but I’ll do as you say’. Several months later, the executor of her will contacted me to say she mentioned me in her last wishes and wanted me to have something off her. Yesterday I found these flowers on my table. From her to me. The feeling is quite inexplicable.

Why I posted this here? Because we often forget to enjoy and appreciate our present planning for the future. Which is never guaranteed.

🌿 Which Foods Actually Make Sense to Buy Organic?

Not everything needs to be organic — but some foods do.
Here’s where it truly matters 👇

🍓 1. Thin-Skinned Fruits & Veggies (High Pesticide Absorption)

These make up the Dirty Dozen — most pesticide-contaminated when grown conventionally:
• Strawberries
• Spinach
• Kale, collard, mustard greens
• Apples
• Grapes
• Bell peppers & chillies
• Cherries
• Peaches & nectarines
• Pears
• Tomatoes
• Celery

If you can only choose a few organic items — start here.

🥛 2. Animal Products (Chemicals accumulate in fat)

Buying these organic can reduce exposure to pesticides, hormones & antibiotic residues:
• Milk, yogurt, cheese
• Meat & poultry
• Eggs (pasture-raised organic = best nutrient profile)

👶 3. Foods Where Purity Matters More

Great organic upgrades when possible:
• Baby food
• Oats (often high in glyphosate)
• Coffee & tea (commonly sprayed crops)

👍 4. Foods You Don’t Need Organic (Usually Low Residue)

Thick skins = natural protection:
• Avocado
• Mango
• Pineapple
• Kiwi
• Sweetcorn
• Peas
• Mushrooms
• Cabbage
• Onions

Save your money here.

⭐ Smart Rule:

If it’s soft, thin-skinned, eaten whole, or high-fat → organic is worth it.
If it’s thick-skinned or peeled → conventional is usually fine.

🌿 What Fiber Actually Does in Your Gut (and why meat changes your pH)

1️⃣ When you eat lots of fiber…
You feed your fiber-eating gut bacteria.
They pay you back with short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) — natural anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer compounds that protect your colon.

They also make organic acids (like lactic acid) that lower your stool pH.
Lower pH = healthier environment = fewer carcinogens.

Plant-based diets consistently lower stool pH — the more plant-based you go, the lower it gets.

2️⃣ When you eat lots of animal protein…
Your gut produces more ammonia, which raises stool pH.
A higher pH environment encourages bile acids → carcinogens, increasing colon cancer risk.

3️⃣ How fast does pH change?
👉 Just 2 weeks of a plant-predominant diet can significantly lower stool pH.

4️⃣ Easy swap that works:
Replace two servings of red meat with lentils, chickpeas, beans, or split peas a few times per week.

It doesn’t just shift your gut pH.
It also improves:
✓ Fasting sugars
✓ Insulin levels
✓ Cholesterol
✓ Triglycerides

Powerful changes. Simple swaps.

Combined HRT & Cancer Risk — The REAL
Numbers
Most women hugely overestimate the risks. Here are the absolute increases over 5-10 years:
BREAST CANCER
• Oral or transdermal combined HRT: +0.5-
0.8%
• Oestrogen + Mirena: +0-0.3% (lowest)
OVARIAN CANCER
• Any HRT: ~+0.1%
• Oestrogen + Mirena: 0-0.05%
ENDOMETRIAL CANCER
• Combined HRT: No increase
• Oestrogen + Mirena: Risk is LOWER (protective)
These increases are tiny compared to lifestyle factors like alcohol, weight, inactivity.
For most women, the benefits of HRT outweigh the risks - especially for bone, heart, brain & symptom relief.

Most people think flying is just “sitting in a chair in the sky.”
But your body is doing REAL work up there.

What actually happens during a flight:

• Cabin pressure drops → oxygen levels fall
• Heart works harder to deliver the same oxygen
• Cabin air is drier than the desert → you lose water just by breathing
• Blood volume goes down → blood gets thicker
• Sitting still slows circulation → legs feel heavy + swollen
• Airway lining dries → immune defence weakens
• That “jet lag” feeling?
→ Not just time zones. It’s physiology.

What I do to protect myself (every flight):

• Hydrate before boarding (start ahead, not behind)
• Skip salt + alcohol in the air (both thicken blood)
• Stand or stretch every hour to keep circulation moving
• Saline nasal spray before takeoff to protect airway immunity
• Walk after landing to reset blood flow + oxygen delivery

Tiny habits. Massive difference when you land.
Your heart travels with you — treat it like it matters.
