One thing I have noticed when training for my hairdressing qualification we all talk and discuss and train on how to speak appear and approach clients but we never really go into depth about handling our clients that may struggle with a condition that isn’t always visible to the eyes. In 2018 I give birth to my son who came along with a bundle of big issues that impact his day to day life
such as being born with two heart conditions which are still present, also feeding issues growing up I noticed there just something was not right, growing up with disabled siblings I knew something, very advance learning as soon as he hit that first mile stone that was slightly few months delayed at first he was off, talking, VERY VERY advance always had friends telling me he’s speech is so clear for his age, sleep, I feel like I haven’t slept in months, eating issue still present , emotional regulation is non existent further more, he was referred for Autisim assessment last summer which we are accepted and seeing paediatrician teams in October.

In honour of my godson Noah, who is also non verbal Autisim in honour of my own son, who I whole believe is autism fallowing afrid and traits of pica and adhd, and my two siblings who have missing chromosome 16 deletions I have taken on board some extra courses to learn deeper about Autisim and how I can add adaptations to hairdressing to make these appointments slots more comfortable and accessible for ALL children and adults who need that little extra comfort and care during their hair appointments 🤎

Been quiet on here so here’s a light to dark 🤎

Currently waiting to see if I can get support on funding to get my level 3 and hopefully become fully qualified turning out to be a longer progress and onto the second option as I can’t do the course within 12 week period and definitely not realistic either here’s to some luck 🍀

Fixing up my own hair 🤷‍♀️🙈 not gonna lie I panic at oxidation thinking it turnt my hair jet black🤣 (id stopped breathing if it was colouring another person) but trust the process didn’t want to use lightener due to having spots on my scalp (feel it is psoriasis or stress related) that actually left me with 2 bald spots now got some growth back on my area low iron making my hair dry out and shed loads (pic is literally brushing before I washed my hair the other week) so taking a step back from lifting or dramatic hair changes 😢
