to the UK PMU Conference & Awards 2026 ✨
A lovely little throwback with Perfect Definition Microblading Permanent Makeup Medical Tattoo El Truchan and Laura Jane alongside Kelly at the UK PMU Conference, where Kelly was awarded 2nd in the country for Ar**la / Medical Artist of the Year.

LASER BROW REMOVAL ✨
Part 2: From old brows... to a fresh new beginning.
This collage shows the entire laser removal journey, from heavily saturated permanent makeup through each stage of pigment breakdown.
One of the questions I’m asked most is...
“Why do my brows change colour during laser removal?”
Permanent makeup pigments are made up of different colour components, and the laser removes them layer by layer. The darker black and blue pigments are usually broken down first. As they disappear, the underlying red, orange and yellow tones become visible before gradually fading with subsequent treatments.
Think of it as revealing what’s been hiding underneath all along. 🎨
Many clients come to me because they have:
✨ Over-saturated brows
✨ Blue, grey or migrated pigment
✨ Brows that have become too thick or misshapen over time
✨ Permanent makeup that no longer complements their face
✨ Previous work that needs correcting before a fresh set of brows
The exciting part?
Once we’ve achieved the right level of removal, we wait around 6 weeks to allow the skin to fully recover before creating a beautiful new set of bespoke brows. That healing period gives the skin the best possible foundation for long-lasting, natural-looking results.
Not everyone needs complete removal either. Sometimes simply lightening the old pigment provides the perfect canvas for a softer shape and more flattering colour.

LASER BROW REMOVAL ✨

Ever wondered why old permanent makeup often fades to blue, grey, red, orange or yellow?
Pigments are made up of different colour components, and laser breaks them down in stages. Generally speaking, the darker blue and black tones are the most dominant and often the first colours we target. As these are removed, the underlying red, orange and yellow pigments can become visible before they too gradually fade with further treatments.
Think of it like peeling back layers of colour 🎨
The photo shows exactly that process, moving from a heavily saturated, darker brow through to the lighter yellow tones underneath.
Many clients come to me because they have:
✨ Over-saturated brows
✨ Blue, grey or migrated pigment
✨ Brows that have become too thick or misshapen over time
✨ Old permanent makeup that no longer suits their face
✨ Previous work that needs correcting before new brows can be created
Sometimes complete removal isn’t necessary. By carefully lightening old pigment, we can often create a cleaner canvas for a softer, more flattering shape and colour.
