Thought it was about time I properly introduced myself with lots of new faces around here 👋🏼
I’m Sam, the face behind The Hair Extensionist York 🤍
I specialise in natural, seamless extensions - especially for fine hair. Basically, I want people to think “her hair looks unreal”… not “nice extensions”!
I work with tapes, nanos & wefts from my private 1:1 salon just outside York.
No busy salon chaos, no awkward small talk with other people listening… just a really relaxed appointment, good chat, a laugh and even better hair 🤍
I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to hair - I LOVE a good blend and all the tiny details that make extensions look like they actually belong there 🤌🏼
When I’m not doing hair, you’ll usually find me with a coffee in my hand, shopping for something I definitely don’t need or overthinking something completely insignificant 😅

THIS is what I mean when I bang on about the blend 🤌🏼
My client had lost confidence wearing her hair down, so with much shorter layers to work with, the magic here was ALL in the blend.
We used tapes to carefully build through those different lengths, so everything flowed together naturally.
This is why extensions aren’t one-size-fits-all 😌
And seeing her leave wearing her hair DOWN with confidence again… that’s the bit 🥹🤍

I’ve merged two different heads of hair into one image to show just how different every starting point can be.
When I assess your hair, I’m not just looking at the length. I’m looking at your hair density, colour, condition, natural movement and, most importantly, what you want to achieve.
That’s why I always recommend a consultation before giving a quote. It allows me to create a bespoke extension plan, so you leave with hair that looks and feels like it’s always been yours 🤍
We ditched the DIY weft… 👀
She walked in and said “don’t judge me…” 😂
My client made herself a DIY weft by taping some clip-in's and old nano's together with sellotape.
And honestly? We had a laugh but genuinely I thought it was brilliant and so creative!
But let's be honest...
We’ve all had those “this’ll do for now” moments.
When your hair just isn’t hairing, you’ll try anything to feel a little more like yourself.
And that’s exactly what she’d done.
Fast forward a few hours… the DIY weft has officially retired and she’s got seamless, blended hair that looks and feels like her own 🤍
