I took a step away from social media and spent most of my summer living life quietly.

Social media had become something I put so much pressure on myself for and I was constantly thinking about what I was doing with it. What to post, how I was being perceived, was what I posted even good enough.

It became this mounting pressure and I just avoided posting at all to try and escape it.

So I took the decision to just stop the pressure and take a step back. I only meant for it to be for 2 weeks but I think it has been so good for my brain to actually take a full break. My head now feels clearer and the idea of posting this didn’t feel so heavy.

Now posting is going to be about sharing with a focus on the joy and love I have for nails, art, the industry and everything else that makes up the life of Oh Lush Nails.

Thankyou for all being patient with me while I took this step back and I can’t wait to share someone what I’ve been up to while I’ve been away, starting with a little dump of how the past two months have been for me.
We had our first family holiday abroad, celebrated a wiggly birthday and had a new little friend join us.

Here’s to posting for joy and not letting social media pressures get to us ✨

I’m taking a little break, a step away from social media.

The undramatic reason is that I’m going on holiday, my first abroad family holiday! Whilst I’ve been away with school and scouts I have never been for a family trip to another country before so this is very exciting and I really want to soak up every moment.

But also, I just need a break from social media and the need to post when you’re a small business.

I’ve been so incredibly burnt out and my demand avoidance has totally wrecked posting on socials for me. Any time I think about posting I get this heavy weight in my chest and my anxiety gets so intense.

I remember when posting sets and interacting on here used to be fun and I miss that.

So I am going to step away from social media for a little while. I will be away from messages until May 23rd on all platforms and may be longer to be back posting. As always you can book, adapt and change your appointments through Fresha.

I had my first day of Model Nails yesterday and it was SO MUCH FUN!

Having a play around with colours and designs really got me in such a good heads space and reminded me of how much I can enjoy this job.

The extensions I offer are Gel-X, a system that uses soft and flexible full cover tips to give you your desired length. These applied using a type of builder gel, meaning they are perfect for growing your nails out and smoothly transitioning to BIAB.

I love Gel-X as they are just as durable as other extensions, whilst also looking more natural and being faster to apply.
