When God made me a business owner, I definitely didn’t see “Guest Speaker” coming with the job description. 😂🥹❤️

Public speaking has been one of my biggest fears for years. Being seen, being perceived, being judged, standing in front of a room with all eyes on me… whew! Immediately “NO” 🙆🏾‍♀️ There was a time I would look for every reason to turn down opportunities like this but I’m learning that sometimes growth requires you to stop running from the very rooms God is making space for you in.

I had the beautiful opportunity to return to Boca Secondary School, my former secondary school, not as a student this time, but as a guest speaker pouring into the new generation of Form 1 students on their orientation day 🥹

I shared the good, the uncomfortable, the lessons, the laughter, and some of the things I wish someone had told little Nyomi when she first walked through those school gates in 2007.

Every time I accept one of these speaking opportunities, I’m also keeping a promise to myself: I will not allow fear to decide how far I go.

I’m still working on overcoming my fear of public speaking. The nerves haven’t magically disappeared but I’m showing up nervous. I’m taking up space. I’m sharing my story. I’m honoring the opportunities God places before me. Maybe this business was never only about hair and skincare. Maybe the journey God has allowed me to walk was also meant to become a testimony someone else needed to hear. ❤️

Here’s to giving back, doing the uncomfortable work, and becoming everything God has called me to be one brave YES at a time. 🥹

Part 2 of Dad’s Birthday Funday! 🎂❤️

After all that screaming, laughing and excitement from river tubing, HUNGER was knockingggg! 😂 And we certainly couldn’t have the birthday man out having a full fun day and not make sure he’s properly fed 🤭

So our next stop was at chef Andre Bernard in Telescope, St. Andrew for a late lunch and babyyyy… they did NOT disappoint! 👏🏾 The food was delicious and packed with flavour, the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing surrounded by nature, and the service? 20/10! 👏🏾 My dad even declared it the best restaurant he’s been to when it comes to flavour and added bonus excellent customer service 🥰 He was even talking about coming back before we even left. That alone tells you everything!

Afterwards, we headed to Sugar & Spice to close off the night with ice cream, but apparently we fed Mr. a little TOO well because there was absolutely no room left. 😂😂

Anyways just like that, our birthday funday came to an end. ❤️

When I asked my dad what his favourite part of the entire day was, river tubing took the crown! 🛟😁

More than anything, I’m just grateful we got to spend another birthday together creating new memories, laughing, trying something different and simply enjoying each other’s company. That’s what this day was really about, making memories with the people we love while God gives us the opportunity to do so. ❤️

Happy Birthday again, Dad. Mission “Give Mr. Fix It a day to remember” officially accomplished! 😂❤️🎂

Helping us package orders, fixing something, building something, getting my vehicle ready for deliveries. This man has poured countless hours into helping me build my dream but this time, NO WORK FOR HIM 😂 Today we’re making memories ❤️

For his birthday, I wanted to give him more than just things. I wanted to give him an experience surrounded by the people he loves.

We started with a little shoe shopping 👟 and then took our adventure loving Leo to Funtastic River Tubing and WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! 😂 The rapids, screams, laughter and beautiful Grenadian nature made it such a memorable family day and seeing my Dad genuinely enjoying himself made me so happy. 🥹❤️

As I get older, I’m realizing that one of the greatest gifts we can give the people we love is our presence and beautiful memories.

Things eventually get old, money gets spent but years from now we’ll still be able to say, “Remember when we took Dad river tubing for his birthday?” ❤️

My dad has spent so much time helping me work and build my dream. This time, I wanted him to put the tools down and simply enjoy being celebrated and making fun memories together. ❤️

Judging by all that smiling and laughing mission accomplished! 🤗
