*HELEN N.TETTEH CROWNED “PURPOSE QUEEN” AT GIRLS FLAUNTING PURPOSE GRADUATION.*
16 year old Helen Narkie Tetteh of Aburi Girls Senior High School was crowned “Purpose Queen” at the just held Girls Flaunting Purpose 2020 Virtual Graduation organized by Salon Cuties; Africa’s Premier Girls’ Empowerment Salon on Saturday 31st October 2020.
Helen emerged tops out of a total of 24 girls who participated in the 10 week long mentorship program held between July and September to help young girls in finding purpose, setting goals, personal branding, gaining confidence, and amplifying strengths.
This year’s Girls Flaunting Purpose Bootcamp was held virtually on video conferencing Zoom App due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and was a massive success.
It was an inspirational 3 month journey for the girls as they met and interacted with several female leaders in society who shared their life experiences and offered insight to guide these girls in finding their purpose. They were also taken through a goal setting master class to help them set and execute S.M.A.R.T. goals as they grow up to become purpose driven women in society.
After 10 enlightening weeks at the Bootcamp, all participants were celebrated for their hard work and tremendous effort throughout the virtual Bootcamp at the graduation. Helen Tetteh was crowned the “Purpose Queen” of the Year 2020 after a challenging contest where the Top 5 shortlisted participants were asked questions in defense of their submitted project work and were also quizzed on how they relate their acquired knowledge throughout the Bootcamp to their personal lives. Emily Naykene got the second position and Naa Korama Meyer-Hyde also placed third.
Helen Tetteh exhibited exceptional qualities of purpose, and excellence throughout the Bootcamp, and in her final assessment. She also showed thoroughness and confidence in her verbal presentations to answer all the questions thrown to her by the judges during the graduation which led to her emerging as the overall winner. She will be an Ambassador for Girls Flaunting Purpose for a period of one year where she will assist in social advocacy projects for the less privileged girls in society and also be assigned leadership roles and tasks at programs to mentor younger girls to increase her capacity and inspire her to give back to society.
Founder at Salon Cuties organizers of the Girlz Flaunting Purpose Bootcamp; Mrs. Ethel Marfo in her address congratulated all the girls graduating for their immense commitment to the program to gain knowledge and acquire skills that will shape them up to become purpose driven leaders and peer mentors to less privileged girls to accelerate the attainment of gender equality in Ghana.
Mrs. Joyce Ahiadorme, Communications and Sustainability Manager at Voltic Ghana Ltd., Guest judge and one of the mentors during the Bootcamp; urged the girls to all see themselves as queens and winners in society who are capable of living with purpose and bringing change to their communities. She also highlighted the impact of the Bootcamp in their lives and urged them to go out there and make a difference through effective goal setting.
Madam Pascaline Songsore; academic administrator and author served as the Guest Speaker for the occasion and urged the girls to seek God’s direction in finding their purpose and to align their everyday living to this purpose. She urged them to deliberately live their lives in accordance with their discovered purpose and to not allow any hindrances to stray them away.
There were also some inspiring performances and empowering recitals by some of the participants to grace the occasion.
Congratulations to Helen Tetteh our “Purpose Queen” 2020. We are so proud of you. Kudos to all the girls who took part in the program, mentors, judges, team and supportive Parents for a successful event. We trust this experience will mold Helen and all other participants into becoming purpose driven and caring future leaders, wives and mothers. The Girls Flaunting Purpose Bootcamp will come off again next year bigger and better.
