BEAUTY IN A BEAST*
- EPISODE 3-
Just a handful of freshers had reported to campus. My hostel was almost empty but for the few students I saw around. It was a beautiful hostel and classic too. A one storey gated building with a large compound and trimmed lawns. Boldly inscripted at the front was the name 'Success Hostel'. The rooms were very spacious and furnished with each room having it's own washroom and kitchen, what people call a self contained. The rooms at the ground floor had two (2) occupants in each room while the top floor had an occupant to a room. I was in room 5 at the top floor. I didn't like the idea of sharing a room with anyone especially someone I didn't know. I spent some time unpacking and arranging my stuffs till late night when I had to retire to bed.
The sound of my alarm clock woke me up. it was 6am and orientation for freshers starts at 8:30am at the school's auditorium. I wasn't used to early morning wakes but I had to adjust because of school. I quickly dashed out of bed, knelt by it and spent some time in prayer. My mum usually said that the success of a day depends on your morning prayer. With that in mind, I did well to keep my prayer life in tune. Whiles dashing to the bathroom, I heard a knock on my door. I wondered who'll be knocking on my door that early. I was yet to make any friends." Hold on please" I shouted. I quickly went to the bathroom, washed my face and dried it with a towel. At least whoever it was shouldn't see my sleepy face with all it's morning wrinkles. The sight that welcomed me when I opened the door totally took my breath away.

-EPISODE 2-
"We'll be visiting you from time to time.Hope you've heard from your brothers?" Yes mum!. Bro Dela called last night. He said he'll be coming to Koforidua next month to see me.Bro Mawuli and I had a chat on whatsapp. "That's okay. You'll be fine ok!". She said smiling.I saw tears wale up in her eyes as she moved towards me.I stood up and Hugged her. "I'll miss you honey".She said. "I'll miss you too mum" with tears in my eyes too.She prayed for me whiles we hugged. I felt so loved and refreshed with her heartfelt prayer. Mum has always been my first love. She better understood me in most situations. Dad was away almost all the time because of work and only came home on weekends or twice in a month. My brother Dela stayed at Tema and will visit once in a while. As for our medical doctor, he's visited once after he left three years ago for Canada. So you see,mum and I spent a better part of the time together. I was a day student while in SHS at Accra Academy so this was going to be my first time staying far from home for a long time. I was going to miss her. "Fasten your seat belt.Should I always say this?". I smiled, did as she said, turned on the Bluetooth of the car's stereo and connected it to my phone. 'Big dreams' by Wutah was the first on the playlist and it did the magic by getting mum nodding to the tune.I put on my sun glasses, adjusted my sit, relaxed and started enjoying the ride that will last for about 2hours.

*BEAUTY IN A BEAST*
EPISODE 1
I spent a better part of the night packing.Had to make sure I left nothing behind because I didn't plan coming back home till the semester ended in December. The idea of coming back home to even help with chores bored me the most. Almost the whole time of packing,I imagined how life was going to be on Campus. I had heard many stories and watched quite a number of Nollywood and Ghallyhood movies that described campus life and how fun it was. I was filled with so much anxiety I couldn't wait to touch campus and live my own movie character. I felt a gentle tap on my legs.I ignored it but had to respond when it got a bit rough. "Wake up and get ready it's already 6am" mum said. I slept off last night whiles parking. Boys "abr3 oo".. I jumped out of bed, went straight to the bathroom, brushed, took my bath and got back to the bedroom to dress up. We lived in a five(5) bedroom house at Weija, well built with a class of finishing. It was just by the road and attracted lots of attention from passers by because of it's beautiful exterior. My dad who worked as an accountant at Newmont Mines and owned a chain of stores he rented out made sure his assets had a touch of class. The three(3) cars at home didn't lack class either. A Toyota Highlander, A Honda Accord and and a BMW M3. Mum owns a big shop in Accra where she sells fabrics and also a boutique at Cantonments. She usually uses the BMW M3. I am the last born of three boys.My eldest brother is practising as a medial doctor in Canada and the second an Architectural Engineer at one of the big construction firms in the country. And me, now going to find head ways at the State University in Koforidua.I was going to study Petroleum Engineering.I have a dream of building a good career in the oil and gas sector and owning a chain of fuel stations. So you see, aside wanting to enjoy school life, I wouldn't have to compromise with my academics because the dream is big. Mum had helped with the rest of the packing. She's always sweet. I quickly dashed into the blue pair of new jeans I had got for the occasion of "killing it to campus". "I for make fine boy sake of some fine girl fit notice me". I had a new black Nike Air Max to match and a black long sleeve folded to the elbow. "Your breakfast is at the dining", mum shouted from the hall". "I'm not hungry mum,I'll eat when I get to school".The answer didn't go well with her so she came to my room to do the usual, "Talk plenty". "I'm not hungry mum,I'll eat when we get to school or maybe I'll take some snacks with me". She left shaking her head. She was the one driving me to school. Boy Soja, our security man had already helped pack everything into the car. We were going with the Toyota Highlander. I took a last glance at my room and smiled. "See you later " I said as if the room had ears to listen.Mum was waiting at the hall."Sit Sena". I did just that. I knew the look on mums face. She was coming to do her "osofo maame" thing. "First of all take this envelope, there's Ghc800 in there. Dad credited your account with Ghc1000 this morning. You have enough provisions to last you till the semester ends.If you need anything call us.Is that clear?". I nodded. "Never forget your Christian values and make sure you get involved with Christian activities.Your siblings have all gone through this process and haven't disappointed us.Don't be the first to do so". I felt the impact of that last statement.

Set and rolling

Untitled album 09/05/2018

I know some of you will label my action as utterly stupid and the height of absurdity after reading my experience. But know: true love never ends.

Serwaa and I have been together for more than a decade and are attached to each other that our relatives and friends call us Inseparable Divine Couple (IDC). We’re often seen together at events clad in the same attire.

She’s the sweetest in bed and soft-talking if you talked to her. I always know we’re meant for each other and she does reecho same.

And although I have had grounds to doubt her love for me, especially when I caught Kwame kissing her after I’d left them to pick something in my bedroom, I have been the one giving life to the relationship.

But my head has been spinning the past two months after I discovered Serwaa is pregnant with another man whom she met at my friend’s wedding in November 2017.

My girl has cheated on me once again and I’m heartbroken because I am always the one doling out forgiveness whenever something goes wrong.

When I confronted her about the pregnancy, she recoiled into her shell and blatantly denied the existence of such a thing.

“If ever I’ll carry anyone’s child, it will be yours,” she lied to me in February this year when I raised the issue with her.

The last time we made love was in December last year when we made plans to get married in August 2018. Somehow in early February this year, she began to pressurise me to have s*x with her despite our decision. But I declined.

It was on April 4, 2018, that she admitted openly to me over the phone that she is pregnant with Kwame. We’re four months away from our wedding and I don’t want to disappoint her because the preparation is 85 percent complete.

I love her so much and I’m always there for her no matter what life throws at her or us. I re-proposed to her last Friday and she said YES.

I have told her about my readiness to help raise the child. I don’t mind at all because love forgives and loves no matter what.

True love has no end.

My name is Solomon and I am in love once again.
