They placed the frog in water
Then turned on the heat

As the temperature rose
The frog kept adjusting
Matching the change
Burning energy to cope
Never trying to leave

The pot was open
But the frog stayed
Until it died

It wasn’t the boiling water that killed it
It was its refusal to stop adapting
