Peeople working at passport and NIA offices must be educated on the law of citizenship and relevance of hometowns in their job. Some Ghanaians are been harassed because their names do not match the names of certain places they select to be their hometowns. Why can't Nima, Madina, Fadama, Aboabo be someone's hometown? But someone can be a Ghanaian and his hometown will be Cardiff because he has a white skin but your own brother with black skin can't choose Dodowa as his hometown unless he is Adangme, why?

For some, you can choose an Akan town as your hometown only if your name is an Akan name, you can choose a town in Volta if you have an Ewe name. Once you have Muslim name, you dare choose any Akan town unless your name is hybrid, Asalifu Agyei, Nii Odotey Muhammed. Muhammed Gado cannot say he is from Mampong, he must choose somewhere in the northern part of the country, why?

Fulani people are extreme vulnerable to this manhandling by officials of these public institutions. I will urge anyone who is Ghanaian and goes through some of these trouble to make a report to the Commissioner of Human Right and Administrative Justice. They have had enough. You can interrogate them to establish that, yes, indeed they are Ghanaians but stop the harassment. There is a process of challenging once claim of citizenship, it is not what your staff are doing on the ground.

Hon Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, I know you are aware of these situations, how do you intend to address them? People are asking me to tell you they are going through hell to get passport.
