𝑺𝒂𝒂𝒎𝒂 𝑲𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒐 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍𝒔 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎 𝑶𝒖𝒕𝒅𝒐𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉

Yesterday, the 𝑺𝒂𝒂𝒎𝒂 𝑲𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒐 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍𝒔 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎 successfully held its outdoor session at the beach, providing participants with a refreshing environment for learning and engagement.

The session focused on 𝑺𝒆𝒙𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 (𝑺𝑹𝑯) and 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓-𝑩𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝑽𝒊𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 (𝑮𝑩𝑽), fostering meaningful discussions and equipping participants with valuable knowledge on these important issues.

Yesterday, the 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 continued its 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗱 distribution to 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗲𝗺 𝗨𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗦𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗸𝗼𝗶 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝘂 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗮𝘄 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, and 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗹-𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗾 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹.

This final phase marked the successful conclusion of the Platform’s handmade 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲, reaching all 𝟮𝟬 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀. Through this initiative, hundreds of girls have been empowered with sustainable menstrual hygiene products, helping to promote dignity, confidence, and uninterrupted access to education.

The 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 extends its heartfelt appreciation to the 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 for its unwavering support, guidance, and commitment to empowering girls through impactful initiatives. This achievement would not have been possible without the Federation’s continued dedication and partnership.

FGM remains illegal in The Gambia, as discussions continue around the law, no court decision changes one fundamental principle: every girl has the right to live free from harmful practices.

We remain steadfast in advocating for the protection, dignity, health, and rights of girls, and we stand united against all forms of harmful cultural practices.

The 𝐒𝐚𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 has successfully concluded a sensitization campaign across its 𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐂𝐀𝐬), reaching community members with important information on 𝐒𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 (𝐒𝐑𝐇), 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐆𝐁𝐕), 𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐲𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞.

The sessions created awareness on key social issues affecting young people and communities, while encouraging healthy lifestyles, informed decision-making, and the protection of rights and well-being.

Participants actively engaged in discussions and gained valuable knowledge to help them become advocates for positive change within their communities.

The 𝐒𝐚𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 reaffirmed its commitment in supporting and advocating for the rights of girls.

Together, we continue to build safer, healthier, and more informed communities.

On this important day, the 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝑴𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒚𝒈𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒆 𝑫𝒂𝒚 joins the world in raising awareness about 𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉, breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation, and advocating for dignity, education, and equal opportunities for every girl and woman.

Menstruation is a natural part of life and should never be a barrier to education, confidence, or success. Together, we can create a society where every girl has access to proper menstrual hygiene products, accurate information, and a safe environment to thrive.

The Saama Kairo Girls Platform continues its handmade sanitary pad initiative, reaching 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚 𝐊𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐋𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, 𝐒𝐚𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥, 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐔𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫, 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐔𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫, 𝐊𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐨 𝐔𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫, 𝐆𝐢𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐡 𝐔𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐚 𝐔𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫.
