We are an owner-operated birding company working exclusively in Guyana, providing you with the knowledge and expertise that only a local company can give. We offer scheduled and customized small group birding tours with minimum time in the field, tours for the serious naturalist-birder, as well as tours for the disabled birder. Our master guide and co-founder, naturalist-Gajendra Nauth Narine (Andy) holds over a decade of experience leading numerous birding tours. He is also the founder and Field Specialist of Guyana Amazon Tropical Bird Society (GATBS) . The official theme for the 2026 International Coastal Cleanup is "Clean Seas for Resilient Communities,
🇬🇾With🌎♥️" while local groups in Guyana have adopted the focus "Our Coasts, Our Responsibilities!" 🇬🇾🌎♥️💜🟣🟪
🇬🇾🌎♥️International Coastal Cleanup Day is celebrated annually on the third Saturday of September to remove trash from beaches and waterways while raising global awareness about ocean pollution.
🇬🇾🌎♥️International Coastal Cleanup Day was established in 1986 by Ocean Conservancy staff members Linda Maraniss and Kathy O'Hara
Origins and Founding;
-The Founders: Linda Maraniss and Kathy O'Hara conceived the movement after Maraniss moved to Texas and became inspired by O'Hara's groundbreaking research report, Plastics in the Ocean: More than a Litter Problem.
-The First Event: Partnering with the Texas General Land Office and local volunteers, they organized the first cleanup, drawing 2,800 volunteers.
-Date: Celebrated annually on the third Saturday of Septembe

-Data Collection: Volunteers do not just pick up trash; they record every item on standardized data cards to track pollution sources and types.
-Policy Change: The compiled data is used to inform governments, shape environmental policies, and lobby against marine debris
-Global Growth: What started locally has expanded into a massive worldwide movement engaging millions of volunteers across more than 100 countries.

-Global Movement: Coordinated globally by the Ocean Conservancy since 1986, it stands as the world's largest single-day volunteer effort for ocean health
-Data Collection: Volunteers record the types of waste collected on standardized data sheets or via apps like Clean Swell to help scientists, researchers, and policy-makers build sustainable solutions
-Scale: Millions of volunteers across more than 100 countries have historically removed over 350–400 million pounds of marine debris from coastlines.
