• WATER
there’s alot of controversy when it comes to water and starter locs but let me be the one to tell you water will actually help your hair loc faster. don’t be afraid to wash your starter locs, and keep them moisturized with a hydration mist.
• OIL
it’s perfectly fine to oil your scalp and locs during the starter locs phase. the proper was to actually moisturize your hair is to apply water/hydration mist and then you used oil to seal in the moisture BUT DO NOT OVER OIL your locs because oils attracts lint and build up and lint and build up is an enemy for starter locS.
• ITCHING
alot of people say they experience inching and a few people say they don’t but i’m here to tell you, if you do experience it, it will past! it’s like a ride of passage. nothing is wrong with your locs just keep your locs moisturize and trust me the itchiness will pass, hang in there.
• APPOINTMENT
the best maintenance you can do for your starter locs is to go to your monthly hair appointment. until your hair is fully loc’d you should never miss a monthly hair appointment. alot will happen to your locs during the starter locs phase especially unraveling. your loctician will know how to handle it and properly fix any issues that occur. if you don’t want to wash your locs yourself because you’re scared it’s going to unravel or if you’re just a person that doesn’t want to deal with your hair that’s what your loctician is there for.• COVER YOUR LOCS
this is EXTREMELY important because it will protect your starter locs from lint. you would be surprise how much lint can get trapped inside your locs from your pillow case and sheets. always make sure you cover your locs at night with a bonnet, durag, or scarf. make sure all of your locs are fully covered not just the top. you should not be able to see any of your locs once your hair is covered. covering your locs at night will also help with frizz, and unravelling.

1) please go for something that will look as natural as possible. Don’t be too pressed about volume because the volume (it will come...just enough volume for your hair profile) We believe in a customized experience for each of our clients because whenever extensions are added, it’s a whole different ball game.
