New Moon🌙 in Aquarius ♒

Aquarius ♒ ruled by Uranus the planet 🪐 of radical change. A revolutionary new decade 🌠is upon us as the Uranian spirit is rebellious, with a wild progressive soul that dances 💃 to her own rhythm. Uranus with the potential of Aquarius leading us out of the some what dark age 🌪of the past years of political repression, humanitarian crisis, animal abuse, environmental disasters and economic greed. The very possibility and potential of a new world 🌍 to break down old traditions and patterns that can no longer be accepted and allow the human species to be free of enslavement.

Robert Tisserand in his pioneering book "The Art of Aromatherapy" 📖 classified essential oils 🌱🌹and their ruling planets with Sandalwood (Santalum album) and Cedarwood also knownas the red cedar (Juniperus virginiana) classified under Uranus. Both of these oils have their individual unique therapeutic properties and both are effective in pulmonary conditions such as coughs 🤧😷 and common respiratory conditions.

H Y A C I N T H

Hyacinthus orientalis absolute has a strong sharp earthy-floral-green scent, it's colour is a dark green that I associate with the heart ♥ chakra. Hyacinth on an energetic level helps one to express grief and accept love from others and community.

When blended with Frankincense (Boswellia thurifea)🌱, Neroli (Citrus x auranium)🌼 and Bergamot (Citrus bergamot)🍊 and applied as a holistic perfume or body oil the evocative narcotic mixture of flowers, resin and citrus lifts that heavy, dull numb feeling that comes with depression and hopelessness.

Blended with Sweet Marjoram (Origanum majorana)🌿, Mandarin (Citrus reticulata)🍊 and Rose (Rosa damascena)🌹 with the same application as above it acts as a gentle tranquilizer to sedate the nervous system and potentially aid sleep. The beauty of plant medicine 🌾🌿never ceases to amaze, inspire and teach me that nature speaks to those who listen.

S L E E P 😴 heals us on a cellular and psychological level and it is critical to one's well being 💃🤸‍♀️. Lack of sleep affects our skin, endocrine, immune, muscular system and our moods.

When we are in deep sleep 💤🌙⭐ chemicals that strengthen our tissues, cells and organs are circulated in our blood to repair our body. Deep sleep is also when we dream (REM) and are devoid of the anxiety triggering hormone noradrenaline.

Many essential oils 🌹🌿have the potential to enhance sleep when chosen appropriately in a blend. The Earth 🌎 element oils that nurture and ground with warm, musty and sweet scent combined with the Water 💦 element oils that balance and uplift with floral and fruity scent work well together.

The beautiful intricate invisible lymphatic system is intimately interconnected with many of our body systems such as the immune system, the skin and cardiovascular function. On a energetic level it resonates with the water 💦element like a ocean 🧜‍♀️ of life-giving lymph fluids in which our cells are nourished and bathed and relieved of their waste material.

A key essential oil for localized oedema is Sweet Fennel 🌿 (Foeniculum vulgare var dulce) the ancient Greeks recognized Fennel's value as a diuretic slimming aid. In modern aromatherapy practice it is often used by aromatherapists as a diuretic and lymphatic decongestant helping to rid the body of stagnant fluids.

Truth perfume 🥀

✔️Blue Tansy (Tanacetum annuum)
✔️Blue chamomile (Matricaris recutita)
✔️Blue gum Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus)

Blend 4 drops each of Blue Tansy and Blue chamomile essential oils and 2 drops of Blue gum Eucalyptus essential oil in 10ml Jojoba oil. Blend well and apply onto pulse points or simply Inhale when needed.

Bathing in the eerily beauty of a full lunar eclipse 🌠after the intense summer☀️ heat🔥 of the day. The moon is the mistress of moisture, menstrual blood, intuition and the nectar 🐝 of life. She is dreamtime and the mystic drawing us inwards and upwards 👆 to the celestial skies💫.

Practise a sweet self care Moon 🎑 Bath ritual after shower 🚿 / bath 🛀 find a (open if possible) space where you can see the moon🌑 clearly even if you live in an apartment sit by a window (balcony, rooftops, garden).

Blend in 5ml Shea butter oil or Sweet almond with the following essential oils🥀 1 drops of each - Jasmine sambac, Patchouli, Rose~Geranium, Immortelle mix well and massage into your skin. This blend is suitable to be used on your facial skin as well.

P O T E N T T I M E S

Mercury 🌠 retrograde, a powerful💪 eclipse ⭐ and a full moon 🌕 is happening NOW at a crucial time globally, ecologically and politically touching us individually and collectively 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦👩‍👧🙎‍♀️🙎‍♂️. It's time to let go of what no longer serves us.

On a personal level I look at how the aromatherapy industry 🌻 in the past few years has been so focused on formulations, MLMs, questionable ethics and old information 📒📖 dressed up as new.

It saddens 😔 me that we have forgotten about the spirit 🐺🐴 of the land🏞️, and of the 🌿 , of sustainability and the integrity of the distiller/supplier. Why have we forgotten about folklore, myths, rituals and intuition ? Have we become so disconnected from the natural world.

To live in this world
You must be able to do three things :
To love what is mortal;
To hold it against your bones knowing
