Ok...the weather's not been the best but we've hit the beach anyway. We're not ones to be put off by wind, torrential rain, gloomy skies and a volcano erupting again :)
Thanks to these 5 lads from South Africa for being Sunz of Beaches first customers.
Jordhi is weilding that spray gun like a sunscreening gunslinger.
Everyone who's tried our unique blend of macadamia and almond oil sunscreen blended with 9 locally made essential oils have all said the same thing...it smells amazing, it doesn't leave the skin oily, doesn't feel like sunscreen and is so easy to rub in.
You'll find us on Oberoi and Petitenget beaches for now.
Over the next few weeks, as we get permission, we'll be hitting the stretch at Seminyak.

Sitting on the beach in Seminyak last year, I looked around and noticed how many sunburnt people were sitting around. One of the most expensive things in Bali is sunscreen. A 30gr tube will set you back $30. That doesn't last long. We worked out to keep our son sun protected over two weeks would cost almost $200. Crazy!
I remembered Surfer Paradise's Suntan Man. For over 30 years, he sprayed sunseekers with suntanning lotion. I thought why not in Bali?
So began the journey to making Sunz of Beaches a reality. It's taken longer than we thought. Earl and Zayde have persisted through convoluted business set ups, visa challenges, getting trademarks, product approval and getting local approval, which if you understand the local 'council' system, you will know how rare it is for a foreigner to be given permission to run a business on the beach.
The sunscreen is made in Bali with local products and smells amazing. Nothing like the toxic crap you buy over the counter. We had to get clever with the formula so it could be sprayed. We've tested it on all our visitors, especially the ones with moon tan. We watched them over two weeks going from white to a beautiful tan and zero burning. It also moisturises your skin.
Ironically, the first day we could hit the beach....and it's overcast and windy!
How awesome does Jordhi look? The uniform also provides sun protection. All our team are Balinese. We want to make life better for others, not just protect skin. Jordhi is our first team member and part of our adopted family. He's become a good friend, and he's REALLY excited about Sunz of Beaches.
If you are coming to Bali, look out for our blue and yellow uniforms roaming the beach, get sprayed because we've got your covered.
Something big is coming. After many MANY hurdles, our vision is coming to life. Watch this space.
