Very alarming though not surprising. 6% decline annually! We need large tracts of protected wilderness interspersed throughout agricultural areas and connected by wild corridors. Similarly this needs to happen in the sea to repair fish stocks. Marine conservation zones please.

Tragic news: Heather the satellite-tagged hen harrier has been found shot dead in Co. Kerry. 250,000 were following her movements online. Whoever is responsible for this barbaric act must be brought to justice.

Some interesting bird facts here. I love the Dunnock menage a trois dynamic. The alpha male taps on the females cloaca periodically which makes her eject the other males semen. Very jealous behaviour!
