I saved it a few weeks ago and keep looking back at it. I think it was near Gortahork.
There's something about an old stone building being swallowed back into the hedgerow that stops me every time. It just reminds me of how incredible nature is.
The rust bleeding through the tin roof. The red door, still standing sentinel long after anyone last latched it. Ivy and fern climbing where they please.
This is Donegal to me — heritage and hardship and beauty, all tangled together and still somehow thriving.
It's a reminder that toughness and softness aren't opposites. The stone held its shape through generations of weather, and the green came anyway. It grew straight through it and is taking it for their own.
We're not so different, we are just a different of nature.
