Beautiful day yesterday in Sligo. Thank you to all our loyal customers and to all our new clients .
The early pregnancy scan is so important. As you know your hospital booking scan is usually at the end of the first trimester , say 12 or 13 weeks , and of course this is very late to pick up early significant changes in the fetus.
At Evie we are Fetal medicine trained Sonographer’s , which means we are trained to see early changes like a thickened nuchal , that’s fluid increase in the back of baby’s neck. We will also look at baby’s tummy from 10 weeks to see a protruding belly button which can help us identify and follow up issues like bowel extending into cord.
There are many many reasons to have a detailed first trimester scan prior to your hospital booking appointment.
When we identify high risk findings we can report this formally to you with our Viewpoint Reporting system which is what is used in the HSE. Your OB team will refer to to your own regional Fetal medicine department.
Alternatively Evie can offer you a private consultation with our professor’s of Fetal medicine.

ScanMe is now doing all our pregnancy scans as part of the Evie group. This has allowed us to open a new ultrasound clinic in Sligo at Cartron Village Shopping

So far the experience has been outstanding. I scanned there yesterday Saturday and the Saturday before and a couple of Wednesday s. We hope to build up to 5 days a week , always including Saturday .
Thank you to the lovely ladies I have scanned so far. The NIPT blood test is available at 10 weeks with us in Evie Sligo.

Our loyal customers at ScanMe Mullingar and Longford are the best. We have enjoyed scanning you all through multiple pregnancies and the biggest thrill of all is when you bring the babies in for a hug from Elizabeth and myself 🌟
I continue to scan in Market Point Mullingar 3 days per week and I hope to return to the Friday slot in Longford in the new Year.
