The Journey of Life is a Journey of Self Knowledge - Caroline Myss Life is about you getting to know yourself. Someone forgot to tell you that.

There’s a Japanese word I love: Gaman (我慢), the quiet strength of staying steady when life gets hard. It’s choosing patience over panic, dignity over chaos, and calm over overwhelm. Gaman isn’t about pretending you’re fine. It’s about knowing you can move through difficult seasons without breaking yourself in the process. If you’re still showing up, still trying, still holding on even when it’s heavy, you’re already practicing Gaman. 💛 #KenHonda #JapaneseWisdom #Gaman #Strength #CalmInTheStorm

"Many of us are caught in our regret and sorrow concerning the past. They might have suffered a lot when they were a child. And there is a dark corner very deep in us. And the memory of suffering is stuck in there. And in our daily life we tend to go back to that spot and watch the film again and again and experience the suffering of the past again and again. We know that it's not good to go back to the past and suffer the same kind of suffering again and again, but that has become a habit. So the past becomes a kind of prison. We are locked in it. We are not capable of getting out and be in the present moment where there is sunshine, the blue sky. So there must be a way in order to get out of that prison. And the practice of mindfulness can help us. And many of us also tend to run into the future. And we have a lot of fear and uncertainty about the future. We are caught by that energy of fear and uncertainty and worries and the future becomes also a prison. We are so concerned about the future, we worry about the future. And that is why we are not capable either to live in the present moment. Life is available only in the here and the now. The past is no longer there and the future is not yet there. Life is only available in the present moment. And this is something very clear. The blue sky, the beautiful hills, the trees, the flowers, the sunshine, the children, all wonders of life are there in the present moment. Even the Kingdom of God is available in the here and the now, the Pure Land of the Buddha. And yet we are not free from the past and from the future in order to be with life in the here and the now. So the practice of mindfulness helps us to stop being caught by the past, by the future, to be free in order to live deeply every moment, given us to live in the present moment." ✩ Teachings by Thich Nhat Hanh (excerpt from a talk originally recorded on the 26th of July, 2014) ✩ Co-produced by Plum Village App and Earth.fm (2025) ✩ Directed and edited by Miguel Sánchez ✩ Cinematography by Morten Lovechild; Jmg Visuals; Armand Dijcks Visuals; Hugo Will ✩ Nature sounds by OG SoundFX; Beison; West Wolf; Sky River Sound

Most stress doesn’t come from life itself, it comes from a noisy mind trying to control every outcome. Mushin is not doing nothing, it’s doing what’s needed without fear, rush, or attachment. When the clarity appears, from it, the right action naturally follows. Peace first, everything else finds its way after. #Mushin #KenHonda #JapaneseWisdom #Life

A WALK FOR PEACE ACROSS AMERICA🇺🇲 ☸️ A pilgrimage of compassion POV: Peace crossed a nation on foot. On October 26, 2025, Buddhist monks from the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth, Texas, began a long-distance Walk for Peace across the United States. The pilgrimage spans approximately 2,300 miles, moving steadily toward Washington, D.C., where it is expected to conclude in February 2026. This journey is a walking meditation dedicated to peace, compassion, and nonviolence. Along the way, the monks document their path and are accompanied by Aloka, a rescue dog who has become a quiet symbol of the journey.
