Rites of Passage — Honouring the Sacred Cycles of Life

Life moves in cycles.

Beginnings and endings, departures and arrivals, times of becoming, shedding, resting and renewal. Yet so many of life’s profound transitions are experienced without ceremony — without pausing to acknowledge what has been, what is changing, and who we are becoming.

Rites of passage give us a moment to pause.
To witness. To honour. To step across the threshold.

From coming of age, marriage and handfasting, pregnancy and birth, motherhood and menopause, through to loss, death and remembrance — ceremony can offer a sacred container for transformation.

Our bodies know something about cycles. Through our menstrual years, we experience the rhythm of release and renewal. Each cycle reminds us that we cannot remain in the same season forever. Something must be released to make space for what comes next.

Menopause is another profound threshold — an initiation into a new season of life. It invites us to honour the woman we have been, release what no longer fits, and listen to the wisdom gathered along the way.

The Wise Woman is cultivated through experience — through endings and beginnings, joy, grief, love, loss and transformation.

This understanding of cyclical living is woven through my work as a Yoga Teacher, Holistic Practitioner and Celebrant.

Through yoga, breath, meditation, sound and ritual, we reconnect with the body as a temple — listening, honouring and becoming present to where we are in our journey.

Through The Foxy Celebrant, I create bespoke ceremonies and rites of passage to honour life’s significant thresholds — handfastings and weddings, baby namings, coming-of-age ceremonies, life celebrations, death and remembrance rites, and personal rituals for transitions that may not have a traditional ceremony.

Because not every rite of passage needs to follow tradition.

Sometimes we simply need a sacred space to say:

This is who I was.
This is who I am.
This is who I am becoming.

Every threshold can be sacred.
Every ending can hold the seed of a beginning.
And every stage of life deserves to be witnessed and honoured. ❣️
