The Narcissistic Leader

Narcissistic leaders place themselves at the center of everything. They exaggerate their own merits while ignoring or devaluing others. Criticism is intolerable, and they often surround themselves with sycophants to maintain their self-delusions.

They may exploit the accomplishments of others, lack empathy, and constantly seek praise. This often stems from deep-seated insecurity. Yet, when guided by a strong vision, some narcissistic leaders—"productive narcissists"—can inspire organizations effectively.
