In a story that highlights the fine line between innovation and regulation, S. Yuvarajaa, an IIT Kharagpur graduate, developed the Super Tatkal apps that enabled users to book train tickets much faster than the official IRCTC platform. The apps gained over 1 lakh users and helped many secure confirmed Tatkal tickets efficiently. However, in October 2020, he was arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for running an unauthorized ticket-booking service under the Indian Railways Act. While his creation was aimed at helping passengers, authorities viewed it as giving an unfair advantage and violating official systems.
This case continues to spark debate on technology, entrepreneurship, and bureaucratic hurdles in India.

A viral social media post has claimed that some customers are using a loophole in Zomato’s delivery system to avoid platform fees and commissions. According to the claim, a customer places a very small order on the app, such as a ₹40 roti, and then contacts the restaurant directly to order additional food worth around ₹1,200. The restaurant receives the extra payment through UPI and packs all the food together with the small Zomato order, which is then delivered by a Zomato rider.

The viral post argues that this method benefits both customers and restaurants because they can avoid platform charges, commissions, and some extra costs, while still using Zomato’s delivery network. Many social media users claimed they had seen or used similar methods, sparking debate about the impact on Zomato’s business model. Some users said the company should introduce stricter checks, while others argued that restaurants are trying to reduce high commission costs. Zomato has not publicly responded to these specific claims so far.

A viral Reddit post has sparked outrage after a user claimed that their father, who worked at Oracle for 20 years and is currently battling cancer, was laid off through an email just two years before retirement. According to the post, there was no phone call or personal conversation from management—only a termination email informing him that his role had been eliminated. The user said the layoff also left his father without health insurance during cancer treatment, leading many online to criticize the company's handling of the situation.

What’s your opinion?
Would you consider selling a small part of your unused gold for the country’s economy?

"If you buy a packet of biscuits and a rickshaw puller buys the same packet, the GST charged is exactly the same.
But because the rickshaw puller earns far less, he ends up paying a much higher proportion of his income in tax."
