Built in 1570, Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi is the first, grand garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent, commissioned by Empress Bega Begum (Haji Begum) in memory of her husband, the second Mughal Emperor Humayun. Designed by Persian architect Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, it introduced Persian-style double domes and the charbagh (four-quartered garden) layout to India, serving as the inspiration for the Taj Mahal

The Qutub Minar, a 72.5-meter UNESCO World Heritage site in Delhi, is the world’s tallest brick minaret, started in 1199 by Qutb-ud-din Aibak to mark the Delhi Sultanate’s foundation. Aibak built the base, while his successor, Iltutmish, added three stories, and Firoz Shah Tughlaq later restored and completed the top floor.
